On the car ride home, Chase blasted music and the two of you enjoyed singing along at the top of your lungs to a classic pop rock hit. The kind of song you can just scream and it instantly brightens your mood. All of the tension from the night before was gone and you were just enjoying life as best friends again.

Having that night together felt like you both got something out from between you. Maybe yhose feelings would have gone away on their own or maybe it would have continued building until it reached a boiling point that destroyed everything. It was weird to say but it’d brought you closer than you’d ever been with another person.

You hadn’t really defined where this was headed towards friendship or something more but you had come to the agreement that there was no pressure. You were young and best friends aleays. If any of this was meant to be something more then you had a lifetime to get there. Until then you were both free to explore your heart, your life, his sexuality, your goals, whatever young people deserve to figure out on their own.

You couldn’t help but laugh at Chase playing the drums on the steering wheel as he drove. He was so adorable when he was letting loose and just enjoying life.  Your bestie sing-a-long was interrupted by a text message coming through your phone and you were shocked to see it was Josh.

24 hours ago you would have probably hid that message from Chase but today things were different. Today you knew that there was nothing you couldn't count on him for and trust him with

You stared down, still in disbelief:
“Josh knows about Noah.”

Chase assumed you meant that Josh knew you knew the very same Noah that had wrecked his life:
“Pumpkin, I think that was a given after he decked him at the party.”

You: “No, I mean about yesterday. He’s asking me to call him and let him know I’m okay."

Chase: “Call him. You two have a lot more to talk about than Noah, but that’s a good start.”

You knew you were going to call him, eventually. You just weren't ready to be rejected again when you were finally feeling a moment of happiness. You didn't want to get your hopes up that this could be the start of finally having a real conversation about everything that you thought could be and everything that actually happened the last month with Josh. Every conversation since he'd walked into that party had been short and ended with Josh needing to get away from it. And every single time it'd left you feeling anxious and unresolved. You weren't in a hurry to recycle that experience again even though you knew you would do it 100x more if it meant there was even a chance of you resolving things.

You looked up and Chase was still watching you, motioning for you to just call him. You put the phone back and before turning the radio back up, said:
“Nah. This is my favorite song.”

I’ve written most of the end except for who we choose LOL so just enjoy while you try to decide who we choose to run to at ep 100.
