40: Surprise Visitor

You spent the rest of the day with Noah and found yourself happier than you'd been in a long time. You watched movies, laughed, and he even took you out to dinner on the way back to the gym.

He pulled in to drop you off back at your car and paused before unlocking the doors:
"Look, I know you slowed things down and honestly that was totally the right thing to do but I would be a fool if I didn't tell you the truth."

You were confused and honestly really had enough revelations for the day but let him continue anyway:
"I like you. A lot. I know you are seeing someone else. Or at least I can assume based on the phone calls and the crying-"

You: "I am single. It's just complicated."

He reached over and grabbed your hand, bringing it to his lips and placing a soft kiss against your palm. He lowered your hand still in his and clutched them to his chest before continuing:
"Whoever he is... he can't give you what I can. He can't make you laugh like I do. He doesn't make you feel safe like I have. Just give this a chance."

You: "I am. I just don't know."

Noah got out without saying another word and got out then walked around the car before opening your door for you again. He pulled you up and placed a soft kiss on your pouty lips before asserting:
"Just give me a chance."

You nodded then climbed into your waiting car. You still didn't know where you two would go from here or if it'd be anything more than friends but today that started off a literal nightmare had actually ended really good.

When you got home, you remembered that your parents wouldn't be home for another two days. You tossed your jacket on the entry table and shuffled upstairs to your room. You figured there had been e ough excitement for one day and it'd be best to attempt to call it a night.

You flipped your light on and startled. You were shocked to find Chase asleep on your bed. You really hoped whatever was coming wouldn't change how you were feeling.

Chase rubbed his eyes under the bright light and with a raspy, sleepy voice, mumbled:
"You're home."

Your heart skipped a beat but you really tried to play it off by responding in as annpyed of a tone as you could fake:
"I am. My home. Why are you here?"

Chase sat up and hung his head in shame:
"I knew you'd avoid me if I kept texting or waiting for you so-"

You: "So you thought you'd break into my house?"

Chase: "Hey! You left the door unlocked this whole time. So technically I didn't break in. Look... I know what you walked in on this morning was probably a shock."

You: "Probably?!"

Chase: "Okay. It was shocking."

You sat down next to him and finally decided to give him a chance at explaining what had felt all day as unexplainable.

Chase almost reminds us about the kiss... who interrupts?
