38: Distractions

Noah still had you tightly wrapped up in his arms and even though you didn't feel the spark you had with Josh and Jaden... and truth be told, even Chase... this was the first time in a long time you felt truly safe. He squeezed a little tighter as he asked:
"Just talk to me, babygirl. Just tell me what you need and I'll do that for you."

You wiped your cheek dry and mustered all the strength you had to mutter:
"Just take me somewhere for a while. I need to get away."

He opened the car door for you then walked around and climbed in:
"Where are we going, hun?"

Your body was curled up in the seat and your mind was drawing a blank. You hadn't really thought this plan through. You just knew you needed AWAY:
"Some place there is zero chance I run into anyone I know."

Noah nodded and then took off as you gripped his wrist at the speed jump. You were just noticing what a beautiful car Noah drove as he intertwined his fingers into yours. 

You pulled up to a beautiful house and asked in awe:
"You live here?"

Noah: "Well it's my parents house but they are in Europe for the winter so I'm house sitting. C'mon, I'll make you some lunch."

He led you inside as you looked around, awestruck. The big, beautiful kitchen was the size of your entire downstairs and your parent'w house was one of the biggest on your street. He was oblivious to your shock and pulled out an armful of ingredients from the huge fridge. He turned and asked:
"How about some pasta?"

You were suddenly distracted by 2 new messages in your phone and you slammed your phone down on the counter. From the moment you'd seen their names, you'd tuned out Noah's words.

Noah was confused and asked:
"Is that a no?"

Your head was all a jumble of everything that had happened and changed the last few hours. The boy you thought was your best friend, who might even someday be more than your friend was kissing a boy you'd thought you still had a chance to date. You were so confused and couldn't seem to wrap your brain around any thought that crossed it. In a desperate attempt to silence the swirling thoughts of confusion, you took the noodles out of Noah's hand and pulled him into a kiss.

Noah pulled back, only slightly:
"Wait... Are you sure?"

You smiled:
"Just shut up and kiss me."

The truth was, you liked kissing Noah. You weren't sure what would come of it but as far as distractions went, Noah was perfection. He lifted you up onto the kitchen counter, effortlessly and let you distract him from lunch.

His hands gripped tight around your waist still from the lift and the tighter your legs around his waist got, the tighter he used his grip to hold you to him. For the first time since your lips had collided with his, the thought crossed your mind... just how far were you willing to let this go?

We are interrupted by a call from Chase. Do we stay and spend the afternoon with Noah or go talk to Chase?
