You had made the decision to meet Blake at the party considering he was a stranger and all. Though, to be fair, all of the guys you’d found yourself thinking about lately had been strangers a week ago. You looked around as you walked in but didn’t see Blake. Bryce saw you from across the room, though.
Making his way over, he called: “Hey kid! You made it? No date tonight?”
It was a relief to see a familiar face smiling over at you.
You: “He’s actually meeting me here-”
Blake walked up behind you, casually interrupting: “You’re late.”
You spun around and to come face to face with a tall, dark-haired cutie. His dark features and toned physique were topped off with just a touch of a playful southern accent.

You choked out in your stunned state: “I- I-”
Blake flashed his charming smile: “I’m just playing, darlin’."
He turned to push his hand into Bryce's for a firm handshake as he introduced himself: "Hey, I’m Blake.”
If that wasn't a strong enough show of confidence and kindness then him slipping the other arm around you, definitely was. Bryce grabbed a drink from the bar behind him and handed you each one. He clinked them to his own: “Cheers to first dates, am I right?”
A beautiful girl walked up just then calling out Bryce’s name. She looked so familiar but you couldn't quite place her. You shrugged it off as someone you'd probably gone to high school with as Bryce excused himself.
Blake spun you around: “Care to dance?”
You spent the next 10 minutes being swirled around the dance floor until you couldn’t tell the music from your laughter. Suddenly, you felt someone grab your elbow and yank you back to reality.
Tayler: “What the hell are you doing? Do you know this kid?”
You: “Wh- What are you doing here, Tayler?”
Blake was understandably confused: “Do you two know each other?”
Tayler wasted no time shoving Blake back when his confusion prevented him from answering fast enough. You scanned the room, searching for Bryce in hopes he could diffuse the situation but to no avail.
You: "What the hell are you doing here Tayler?"
Tayler: "I could ask you the same thing! This IS a party, I didn't know you knew how to have a good time anymore."
Blake: "Hey. Hey. I don't know what's going on here but-"
Tayler shoved Blake: "Stay away from my girlfriend!"
Blake took another confused step back as you quickly defended: "I am NOT your girlfriend! I haven't been your girlfriend in months!!"
Blake: "I don't know what I found myself in the middle of but-"
You let out a frustrated groan: "AHHHHHH! God, Tayler. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
As a confused Blake and hostile Tayler seemed to puff their chests at each other, a third man walked up to the scene announcing: “Don’t I know you? I think we matched online?”
