His Light

Alex's POV

I looked at Lilac as her face suddenly turned horrified. She ran literally into my embrace hugging me suddenly so tightly getting closer to me, as if she was shielding me, I was so confused, what was happening?

But before I could even grasp what was going on,  a loud ringing sound erupted, and everything was passing in slow motion, my ears ringing loudly. My smile fading.

People beginning to scream and run. Pure chaos emitting.

Lilac's beautiful white dress, turning red. I saw her lifting her hands up towards my chest, checking if I had blood on me, if I was okay, but I fucking wasn't.

Blood was seeping out of Lilac's chest.

"Lilac? " I said desperately trying to get her attention, she was smiling, but looking slightly confused at my face, not comprehending what was happening to her, she was shot from behind and the bullet pierced through.

"Alex?" she whispered, as she looked down on her chest, seeing the blood staining her white dress, her face turning pale.

Rowan and Zac, all my men began shooting around, into the direction where the gunshot went off. We were being targeted.

My heart stopped, the most important day of my life, turning into my nightmare.

But then she collapsed into my arms as I caught her, placing her down, gently. Everything felt like it was passing in slow motion.

"LILACC!!" I screamed as she was laying in my arms, fear over taking me, her chest filling up with more blood.

I just pressed one of my hands hardly onto Lilac's chest as she hissed, desperately trying to stop the bleeding while cradling her in my arms.

"It's okay, " she began, her breathing coming in gasps, making it difficult for her to breathe properly.

"Lilac, please, please, please, please Lilac you can't do this to me! You fucking can't! YOU CAN'T! " I begged as tears began to run down my face.

I can't lose her.

"Alex, baby, my love" she said, lifting one of her bloody hands slowly up, cupping the side of my face.

"I love you; I love you s-so much" she said.

"Lilac, no, no, no, no, please angel" I pleaded, fear evident in my voice.

"Save our babies Alex, save them, okay?"

"We all are going home, okay?" I told her trying to reassure her.

She just passed me a weak smile, "Alex I don't think t-that's possible, you need to save our babies, no matter what happens." She whispered.

"Please don't say that, please Lilac." I begged

"It's okay Alex, everything is going to be okay" Lilac uttered, trying to reassure me, brushing her thump back and forth on my cheek. Just trying to comfort me while she was hurt because of me.

"I can't do this without you, I just can't" I said, breaking completely down, my hands shaking, my heart pounding hardly in my chest, my world falling apart.

"I know you can, y-you are going to be the best dad ever" Lilac whispered, beginning to cough heavily.

And the next moment, I just saw blood coming out of her mouth, a lot of blood.

"Please angel, don't leave me, don't. I gave you my heart too, don't you dare break it." She then placed her other hand on my hand that was pressing on her chest, where the blood was still finding a way to gush out in between my fingers.
