  First, the buzzer.

"Levi!" you called. "It's me, (y/n)."

There wasn't a reply. Sighing, you withdrew the key and pressed the buzzer again.

"Levi, I'm coming in. Please be decent."

You unlocked the door and gently pushed it open, finding the apartment as tidy as ever. The lights were off, but the morning sunlight was enough illumination. You entered and shut the door, scanning the room. Levi was nowhere to be seen. The scent you couldn't distinguish before was still subtle, but notable. You figured it had to be Levi's natural scent and found it rather calming, barely pervading your senses with a professional, yet gentle aura.

"Levi?" you asked again, afraid to start wandering his apartment.

You chose to try the bedroom door, knocking first. "Are you in there?" Still nothing.

The bedroom was very, very dark. The slit of light that pierced the room barely revealed anything as you poked your head in. You could make out where his bed was, but couldn't discern anything else.

You widened the doorway, allowing more light in. The queen bed was positioned against the back wall, blending into the darkness with its pitch black sheets and blankets. Two identical bedside tables were positioned on either side, fitted with deactivated lamps. On the left wall was a sliding door that perhaps held a closet, with a dresser on one side and a desk on the other. On the right was the door to the bathroom.

As your eyes adjusted to the darkness, you noticed the lump in the sheets, one the size of a human body. "Levi?" you whispered, now realizing that it was him. Was he supposed to call out of work today?

No. Even if he did, he'd know better than to not give any prior notice.

"Levi, wake up." You finally stepped into the bedroom, leaving the door ajar. He didn't budge. "Levi!" you said a little louder, afraid to wake the sleeping lion.

You moved closer to the bed, noticing his head of inky hair spill across the pillow. Beneath it, his face was set in a content state of silent slumber, his eyelids shut softly and his lips parted. It was beautiful, the harsh dictator now in a vulnerable, innocent state.

Did he really sleep in? You kept your mind focused on the task at hand.

"Levi." You touched the outline of his arm underneath the sheets. Still nothing.

"Levi, it's (y/n). Wake up." Nudging the arm, you waited for a response before shaking it more.

His eyelids finally shot open and his body kickstarted into action. He unfurled the arm that you touched and took your upper arm, switching the roles and pulling you closer to him. His other hand, initially beneath his body, was now reaching for your throat, his thin fingers grasping your neck and tightening.

"Le...vi..!" You tried to tug away, but his grip on your arm and throat kept you in place. Even when your legs and torso contributed to the escape, his strength easily countered it.

He didn't stop even once he comprehended who you were. "(Y/n). What are you doing here?" A harsh glare was plastered on his face and it seemed like he detested looking upon you.

You felt his unforgiving fingertips dig into your skin, cutting off the blood to your brain. "I came for you," you wheezed. "You weren't in your office." The words barely came out. A static tingle began flooding your body as your head spun, darkening your vision. Your arms went limp, one of which was now loosely dangling in Levi's grasp. Constricted lungs screamed for air and your throat only choked painfully in response. "Please..." You thought you said it, but perhaps you had only mouthed the word silently.
