So, Levi lied to me. He lied to me on Friday evening, and now I don't know where his car is or who his passenger was. Did he even have a passenger? You stayed in the large alley between the banquet hall and a campus building, trying to conceal yourself as much as possible while you thought of a solution. Yes, he did. Erwin mentioned as much. He said it was someone Levi didn't particularly like.
That doesn't narrow it down. There's a ton of people Levi doesn't like. Pulling out your phone, you decided to take a shortcut to the answer. I'll just ask Erwin. Please, pick up.
Erwin didn't answer your call, nor the three others you sent through. You cursed, upset you couldn't get the help you needed. Is it safe to go back to the banquet hall? Is Levi still there?
"Hiding won't get you any closer to my car." Levi's appearance startled you, his voice sounding from his spot at the entrance to the alley.
"Oh, come on! How the hell did you know I was here?" You were already backing away, sacrificing the answer in exchange for the chance to flee.
"Start running."
Fuck, he's serious. You bolted away, speeding down the alley and zooming out the other end, entering the first lot you had investigated. In the few seconds you had to think, you noticed a couple returning to their car from the party. Perfect. Witnesses are always my unintentional allies.
You squeezed between two cars and glanced back, finding Levi immediately halt his sprint once he saw the couple. He kept walking ordinarily, heading your direction with controlled yet swift steps.
Darting away, you kept yourself in the couple's field of vision as you crossed through the lot, hoping to find a solution quickly. Slinking between a row of cars, you ducked down in an attempt to disguise your movements temporarily. Hopefully I don't look too suspicious. I just need to lose Levi again.
Staying crouched, you used the cars as a wall as you made a slow escape from Levi. Your journey was stopped abruptly when you happened to notice something peculiar about a car you passed. Looking back, you confirmed your suspicion immediately. That's Erwin's car. You had only seen it a few times in the past, but you couldn't mistake the white body of the vehicle that was christened with the expensive brand that few drivers had. Such a prissy car was easily recognizable.
Circling to the passenger door, you prayed for luck before pulling on the handle. Miraculously, the responsible Erwin Smith had uncharacteristically left his car unlocked. The interior lights of the car didn't turn on, another unexpected convenience. You climbed inside his car without hesitating, deciding to use it as a hiding place until Levi went elsewhere.
Forcing yourself into the leg area of the passenger seat, you made sure your head was beneath the windowsill as you tried adjusting your crammed position. Sorry, Erwin. I hope you don't mind me using your car for a bit. You called him again, with no success. Well, I'm stuck here until Levi leaves or until Erwin can tell me who Levi's passenger was. You tried craning your neck to see out the window, but your vantage point allowed you to only see the sky, nothing more. I don't even know where Levi is. I won't be able to know when he's gone.
"Hello, Levi." Erwin's voice was heard faintly, still far in this distance. Erwin is out here! They're both outside.
"Erwin," Levi responded coldly, focused on other things.
"Have you seen (y/n)?"
"I have, but I lost her."
"Lost her? What happened?"
