Note: Just a heads up, it only gets more intense in terms of violence from here. Consider yourself warned; it ain't pretty.
------------------------------------------
The week finished without incident and you spent the weekend alone. Monday morning, you anxiously waited at the bus stop, furiously checking the time every few moments.
Shit, where's the damn bus? I'm going to be late! You had been pretty good about timing your trip to the academy, but now you were going to be tardy for the first time due to something beyond your control. It infuriated you.
7:52. I'm screwed. You tried reassuring yourself with the fact that Levi usually didn't show up until a few minutes after you did. As time continued to pass, you let that hope dissipate. I've never been late before. How is he going to react?
At a terrifying ten minutes past 8, you knocked on Levi's door. "Levi?" you called weakly. "It's me, (y/n)."
There wasn't an answer. Nervous, you turned the unlocked handle and peeked inside. He was there. No reaction was given to you as the small professor worked silently at his desk.
You opened the door further, stepping inside fully and shutting the door behind you. "Uh, Levi." You urged him to say something.
He didn't. I hate this silence.
Sighing, you stepped closer to his desk. "The bus, um...it was late." You sat at your chair, trying to stay as compliant as possible to make up for your mistake.
He kept working, paying you no heed.
"Levi, say something," you meekly demanded.
He set his pen down, sparking hope in you. Any response, positive or not, was better than ignorance.
"Levi?" you kept pushing.
"You're late." He spoke at last, locking eyes with you.
Your body once again fell into a frozen state of submission. You were tense, anxious to resolve the conflict. "I'm sorry."
"Tch," was his short response.
"I'm sorry, Levi. The bus was super late. It wasn't showing up. I couldn't just walk. It was beyond my control..."
"I don't give a shit about your excuses."
"Is there something I can do to earn forgiveness?" The question was demeaning to ask, but you were willing to stoop to that level to keep yourself safe.
Levi kept you engaged in a staring contest as he thought. "I'll give you a choice."
"A choice?"
"Poor behavior must always be reprimanded. Since it's a minor offense, I'll give you the luxury of a choice. You can take a beating now, or spend the day in the office. Only in the office."
A beating? Sure, he had terrorized you before, but never had he deliberately expressed that he did, much less offer it to you as an option.
"That...isn't right." You tried to remember your position and the professional environment. Whatever he was suggesting was crude and unethical.
"Being late isn't right, either." Levi stood up, placing his hands on the desk. "Of course the way I treat you isn't right. Our relationship isn't right. Your desire isn't right, and neither is mine." He splayed out the hidden desires that you kept avoiding for so long, taking you down with him into the shameful pit of ugly reality. The blunt truth was disgusting to accept and your face heat up with embarrassment upon hearing it. "So make your selection. If you don't decide, you'll just receive both."
