Fortunately, Levi was still in bed when you woke up the following Saturday morning. He was already stirring when you sat up, perfectly waking up the same time you did. "Good morning," he mumbled.
"Morning, Levi." You planted a light kiss on his cheek, an action that warmed his sleepy face. "I have a surprise for you."
"A surprise?"
"Mmhmm."
"What is it?"
"You'll see. Let's get ready and have breakfast, and then I'll give it to you."
He mustered a crumbling grunt, lurching up to a sitting position before sighing. "Fine. You and your sneaky suspense..."
You slipped out of bed, fixing the gown that had become dangerously disheveled in your sleep. "I'm going to wear clothes today," you declared, already marching over to the closet.
"Do whatever you'd like." Levi watched you vanish into the walk-in closet, slow to rising himself.
When you and Levi were ready for the day, both in casual lounge clothes, you headed downstairs to find Erwin already preparing breakfast. "Good morning, you two," his gravelly voice drummed.
"Morning, Erwin." You were surprised to find him as finely dressed as ever, a pristine white button-up hugging his chest and arms with the sleeves rolled up. He didn't have a blazer or tie of any kind, but you were perplexed as to why he continued to wear such sophisticated attire in his own home. "Geez, this is your house. You don't need to dress up."
"I have guests over," he explained. "I'd like to look nice for them."
"Oh, really?" Levi slunk over to his side, trying to include himself in the cooking process. "So (y/n) and I don't look nice because we're dressed casually? Is that what you're saying?"
"No, you can wear what you want. It's my personal preference to look this way."
"Even if we're slobs for doing so?"
"You're not a slob, Levi. You look good." Erwin, past his own expectations, had to give validation to his fishing friend.
"You look incredible, Levi," you added, happy to be more mushy with your boyfriend than Erwin was. "The handsomest man I've ever met."
"Alright, alright." Levi's tone was adorably timid. "Go keep yourself busy. Erwin and I will finish breakfast." He tried waving you away, but you swiftly pranced up and snatched his hand.
"Nah." You kissed the back of his hand, then wedged yourself between the two men. "I wanna help. We can do this together, can't we?"
"Sure," Erwin allowed. "Can you find the cooking oil in the pantry? I believe it's on the fourth shelf from the bottom."
You took your same seats from dinner last night for breakfast a short while later, with Erwin on your left and Levi across from you. Eating with them was pleasant, any lingering tension slowly dissipating as both men seemed quite comfortable with each other, and with you. You felt surrounded by close friends, not by your sadistic boyfriend and his welcomed, involved mentor.
"I'm finished," Levi declared as he set his fork on the empty plate. He had been the quietest during the meal's conversation, and you only now realized why. He was in a rush to finish his food.
"You must be excited," you pointed out, prodding at a sausage with your fork.
"No. I just finished eating," he denied, refusing to show his restlessness.
