You finished up the work week with the same schedule that had been implemented on Monday and Tuesday. Amongst the other pressures of school and Levi, getting to teach actual classes was an exciting venue that kept you energized. Levi didn't mind, occasionally missing the classes he was possessive of though still quite comfortable relinquishing authority of them to you.
It was late Friday evening and you found yourself at Levi's apartment, as usual. You both had finished eating dinner and now spent time on his balcony, taking in the early November air.
"I'm starting to appreciate the weekends more and more." Levi rested his arms on the railing. "I never had a meaningful way to spend them, but now I just look forward to more time with you."
"Even after being around me at work all day? You're clingier than I thought."
"I'm not clingy." He frowned.
"Yeah, you are. You have been even before we were dating."
"Tch." Levi avoided eye contact. "Quit teasing me."
"Oh, you like it when I tease you." You wreathed your arms around his neck, hugging him from behind.
"Only because it gives me the opportunity to punish you." He remained stern.
"Sure. Whatever you say." You pressed your cheek into his temple.
"When did you get so touchy?" He didn't shoo you away despite the connotation of his question.
"When I had a boyfriend, I guess. Do you have a problem?"
"I'm just not familiar with it. Of course we touch, but it's usually different."
"Yes. Always sexual, or just sadistic." You sighed. "Well, here's some pure, romantic touch. Get used to it."
"Hm." Levi put a hand on your head, petting your hair. "It's fine, I guess."
Your heart was accustomed to affection from him, finally taking in his gestures without rapidly accelerating. "This week has been hectic with all the new responsibilities we have. I think I really appreciate the weekends, too."
"It'll be like this until the end of the semester. After I finish submitting course ideas, we then have to focus on interviews, not just yours but others as well. Then we'll devote time to your thesis." Levi carded his fingers through your hair. "Dhalis told me the deadline for-- oh, shit."
"What?"
"The damn paperwork for new summer courses is due on Monday. I left it at the office and it's not completed."
"Oh." You stepped back. "Should we go pick it up?"
"I'll have to head over there, yes. You can stay here." Levi checked his watch. "Damn, it's already 10. Awfully late to go to the university."
"Let me come with you. It's boring here without you."
"Whatever you want." Levi reentered his apartment. "Get a coat, though. Pick one from my closet."
At the university, you walked alongside Levi through the courtyard that preceded the main building that held his office. The campus was eerily quiet, with faraway traffic serving as the only proof of human life. Dim lampposts barely illuminated the wide sidewalk, casting an foreboding glow.
"A lot different at night," you commented.
"It's quiet, pleasantly so." Levi walked briskly. "There's nobody out-- oh, well, there's someone."
