Levi had fallen asleep before you, his insomnia apparently cured in your presence. You joined him in slumber soon after, accepting the couch as your bed for the night.

The following morning, you were the first to wake up, finding yourself in the exact same position. Your body was incredibly stiff, having been pinned beneath Levi all night. He hadn't moved, still cuddled up to you and fast asleep.

Despite your aching muscles, you remained motionless. You committed yourself to keeping calm for Levi's sake, aware that the slightest movement would stir the sleeping man.

The smallest grunt left his lips, then he was stilly silent. Is he dreaming? You felt his head twitch, followed by his grip on your sweater tightening. Then, a deep sigh as he slightly curled his body in. He must be.

You kept your breathing shallow, becoming a statue to avoid bothering your boyfriend and his small unconscious activity. Levi slowly nuzzled his head against your collarbone, obsessed with his makeshift pillow.

He's...cute. He's so cute. You had to hold back from hugging him tighter.

When, after several minutes, Levi finally did wake, you didn't even notice until his head was already up. "(Y/n)," he said softly.

"Good morning," you whispered, failing to hold back a smile.

"Oh..." he moaned, still bleary. "...My love."

You gasped, blushing at his new term of endearment. Your brain short circuited and you didn't even have the wherewithal to process a response.

He dropped his head, burying his face in your chest. Your hand moved on its own, placing itself on the rear of his skull gently. You weren't even sure of what you were doing, only processing thoughts of infatuation and affection.

He was still as you ran your fingers through his hair, perhaps welcoming the gesture. The way his silky locks flowed through your fingers was rather soothing, the freedom to touch such a beast so intimately sparking an innocent happiness in your heart. His aggression and snappy crabbiness was gone, letting you indulge yourself in his wholesome demeanor.

More time passed like this, almost leading you to believe he had fallen back asleep. When he spoke again, he was careful to not move from his position. "What time is it?"

  "I don't know, Levi."

"Hm." He still hadn't fully gained consciousness, evident through his mindless question and response. "I think it's time to get up."

"You don't have to. Sleep a bit longer."

"I can't." He raised himself up, sitting back on both yours and his ankles. Holding a hand to his head, he let his unmade hair spill through his fingers as he blinked himself awake. "I'm not tired anymore."

"Alright. How did you sleep?" you asked.

"Well." He nodded slowly. "Very well."

"Good." You were happy with his full night of rest, even if it was spent crammed on a couch with you.

Now having recovered his wits, he looked elsewhere in thought. Sighing, he shook his head. "Enough." He clambered off the couch, steadying himself on his feet. "I don't want to praised like that."

"...Okay," you replied deferentially, a bit dejected.

"Go change." Levi pointed a finger at the loft. "I'll be waiting out here."

"Will do." You got to your feet and headed to the bedroom, deciding to hold off on the subject bothering you.

Your wardrobe for the trip was slightly different than your typical attire. Free from the dress code of Paradis, you had chosen more fashionable pieces that still prepared you for the winter weather of the mountains. The blue jeans that hugged your legs were amply thick enough to keep you warm while simultaneously matching with your grey top. It was thinner, but the black parka you brought would be adequate. Levi's love for monochrome is really rubbing off on me. Slipping on chestnut boots, you reassured yourself of your independence of opinion. Nah, not completely. I still have a sense of color.
