Days passed in Erwin's house, no new developments neither inside nor outside the mansion. The most notable shift was your growing frustration about your imprisonment, your mind eventually wishing to sacrifice safety for sanity. Levi and Erwin left for work every day, sometimes before you woke up, and you were stuck by yourself until they eventually returned home at some random point. You could keep busy, but the lack of any decent stimulation kept you yearning to return to Paradis. You would ask Levi about it soon, you decided.
Even so, you didn't want to complain too much. Your time with the two men, even if it was limited to evenings and weekends, was still incredibly pleasant. Erwin often brought home small gifts for his guests, anything from more clothes to food or desserts. You'd encourage all three of you to spend time together, and Erwin would counteractively encourage you and Levi to spend time alone. His support was always astonishingly relentless, though you and your boyfriend wouldn't really complain.
Late Thursday evening, you waited through every draining minute until Erwin and Levi would arrive home at 8. I hate their stupid night classes. Takes forever for them to show up. You flicked through another page of the book you had chosen, trying to compel yourself to begin reading more lines. Killing time grew harder with every passing day, your desire for interaction becoming impossible to suppress.
A tap on the window startled you, your head instantly snapping over to see what the noise was. Another tap, then a growing rhythm of taps came from the droplets hitting the pane. Oh, it's raining. You lowered your book, watching the rapid weather shift as the sky darkened. Did they bring an umbrella? Or even coats?
Poor guys. It's already getting late, too, so they might be pretty cold. You wriggled out your phone to find it was already 7:50, right when Levi's class should have ended.
Opening the group chat, you sent a concerned text. "Hey it started raining suddenly, are you two gonna be alright?"
"We can handle a little rain. No need to worry." Erwin responded first.
Levi came immediately after. "That's just Erwin. This shitty weather is obnoxious."
You grinned as you sent a reply. "Sorry to hear that."
"Erwin's driving now. We'll see you in a few minutes."
You stationed yourself at the window facing the driveway until you saw Erwin's car arrive, then darted to the hallway to welcome them inside. Levi stumbled in first, horribly damp and awfully disgruntled. He slicked back his hair that hadn't had time to dry during the car ride back, the rain having done quiet a number on his raven crop. "We're back," he muttered, already eyeing you directly in front of him.
"Welcome back." You smiled at the sight of your boyfriend, no matter how drenched nor grumpy he was. "How was the rain?"
"Manageable." Erwin sauntered in behind him, his shoulders dark with water stains and his hair glossy with a wet sheen. "I'll be sure to bring an umbrella tomorrow."
"Yeah, you two look terrible. Come on," you urged. "You can go shower, and I'll make some drinks. Teas and coffees."
"That's terribly good of you," Erwin praised. "You don't need to go to that trouble."
"And indeed, you're not going to. Come with me." Levi gravitated towards you and took your wrist, reinvigorated with newfound energy as he stalked down the hall with you in tow.
"Why?" You stumbled to keep up with him, eventually matching the turnover of your feet to his. "Do you need something?"
"We're going to our room, Erwin," Levi announced. "Don't bother us, please."
