The next morning, you woke up as alone as you did last night. Sunlight proved it was actually daytime, golden rays filtering through the drawn curtains and softly lighting the room.
"Dammit, Levi," you grumbled as you shuffled out of bed, anxious to find your boyfriend yet again. Smoothing a hand over your hair, you left the bedroom to scour the house.
"Levi!" you called as you pattered down the stairs, your eyes scanning the empty foyer. "Erwin?" you asked instead, finding the house awfully quiet.
Entering the vacant kitchen, you found the digital clock on the oven reading 8:02. 8! I should be at the university by now! "Guys?" you shouted as you headed down the adjacent hall, finding the door that led to the garage.
It was a massive space, big enough to hold three cars at least. The walls and floor were rather bare, the room apparently not used for much more than storing cars. Levi's black sedan was parked closest to the door, though Erwin's car was nowhere to be found.
Confused and wanting answers, you darted back to your room and found your phone. Neither of the men had texted you.
So, you sent a message to both of them, creating a small group chat. "Um hello? Where did you two go?"
Several minutes passed, you sitting on the bed and staring at the screen.
Levi finally responded. "To the university."
"Why didn't you wake me up? We could've gone together."
"I went with Erwin to his morning class. You didn't need to wake up that early to come along."
"I'll head over now, then. Can I use your car?"
"No. Stay at the house."
Agitated, you decided to just call him instead.
"Do you mind?" he asked as he picked up. "I'm in class right now."
"You're just in Erwin's class. You don't need to pay attention. Anyways, I can take your car? I'll make it to the university before 9."
"No. I don't want you leaving the house today. Erwin and I will be back later."
"Why not? I just-"
"This isn't up for debate. Stay at the house."
"Le-vi."
You heard a scoff, then shuffling as Levi stood up. "Erwin, talk to (y/n)."
"I'm teaching right now." Erwin had to stop the lecture he had been professing to answer to Levi. His voice was distal, far from Levi.
"Just for a few minutes."
"I'm teaching."
"I'll take over."
"You don't know world history."
"This class has the same curriculum as last spring semester, when I was your intern. I remember it well enough. I'll take over."
Erwin paused. "Okay. If it's only for a brief moment." The phone was shifted from one man to the next, Levi probably heading to replace Erwin as the history professor took the phone. "(Y/n), hello."
"Erwin, Levi says I can't come to the academy. He says I should stay at the house."
"Yes, you should." Erwin agreed with your master, giving you no alliance to take advantage of. "You don't have any fresh clothes for today, and it's safer there anyways. Levi and I will be home at 2."
