"Welcome back!" you greeted as you entered the foyer, happy to see Erwin and Levi. "Sorry, I was just putting away the rest of Erwin's blazers. They're a bit of a pain to carry."
"Thank you so much for doing that." Erwin gave his usual soft smile. You realized you were struggling to meet his eyes, now failing to see him in an amiable light after the sheer exposure of his kinks that you had just experienced.
"Did you finish the rest of the chores you were assigned?" Levi asked.
"Yep! Made some progress on my thesis, wiped down the kitchen, did the laundry. All of it got done."
"Good. Thank you for staying diligent," Levi congratulated as he began ascending the staircase.
"Yes, thank you. I'll be back after I put my things down." Erwin began drifting to his own room, both men needing to get settled first. Erwin's migration to his quarters heightened your paranoia, but you kept telling yourself that there was no way he would find out. Unless, for some reason, he wanted to access the room between now and tomorrow. There's no reason he would. No reason he'd need to access it.
You sat anxiously in the living room, waiting for either man to reappear so you could supervise them. Keeping them in eyesight was ideal, a safer guarantee that Erwin nor his partner would discover your secret.
Levi returned first, though he continued to the kitchen to start a pot of tea. Offering to help, you tried making casual conversation to take your mind off your crime. You were able to discuss your progress on your master's thesis with him, though thoughts of what you just discovered about Erwin kept intruding in your mind. You didn't judge him for having such possessions, fully aware that he was allowed to do what he wanted and have his own hobbies. Perhaps it was the terror of stumbling upon it, of prying into that realm without consent. He couldn't find out that you had gone in there, no matter what.
It's fine. I closed the closet, and I made sure to lock the door. He'll never know I was inside. You glanced behind you, looking at the hallway that Erwin had yet to emerge from. I just need to return that key. I can do it tomorrow, when they go to work. Just as long as he doesn't find out before then.
"Levi!" Erwin's deep voice echoed from his chambers. "Can you come here for a moment?"
It has nothing to do with his missing key, right? No. Be reasonable.
"Let it steep," Levi commanded before shutting the lid of the tea kettle and disappearing to Erwin's room.
Just stay calm. I'll blow my cover if I panic too much.
The house was oddly quiet even though the two men should have been engaged in conversation. You wondered if the walls were really that sound-dampening, or if the conversers were speaking in a lower volume. If they were hushed, your wary mind couldn't help but wonder what the subject of their dialogue was. Stay calm.
You kept your focus on supervising the teapot, zoning out to ignore intrusive thinking. Settling your frightened mind, you let out a soothing sigh as you rested your hands on the counter.
"Oi."
You hated how much Levi's single interjection startled you, your body visibly jumping at the interruption. "Yeah?" You turned to face him, finding him leaning against the arch that separated the kitchen from the living room.
Your master, as small as he was, exuded an aura of silent fury that could fill a room. His arms were folded tightly across his chest, and his eyes were fixed on you with predatory terror. He looked pissed. Shit.
