Ch. 5: The PIO's New Boyfriend

The girl sighs heavily, expressing her exasperation and rolling her eyes as she took her seat on the chair infront of the desk. And behind that desk, Heeseung eyes her with a frown, his expression only getting deeper when the girl lifts her legs and places her feet on the other chair across from the one she sat on.

"Jiwoo-"

"Don't you ever get tired of calling me here, though?" the girl suddenly asks, looking at her nails before turning to Heeseung with a rebel's smirk. "Or do you just really want to keep seeing me?"

Heeseung remains looking at her with a frown, before he eventually lets out a sigh and stands up from his seat. "Ugh, I can't do this anymore. Seriously, what keeps on making you get into unnecessary fights all through out the day? Don't you get tired?!" He slams his hands on the table, looking at Jiwoo with a scowl.

For a second, the girl gives him an uninterested look, then she tilts her head at him while giving him a mocking impression. "Aww, are you actually feeling concerned about me? That's so sweet of you, Heeseung!"

Heeseung's face twitches in annoyance, then he moves away from the table again before taking his seat again and leaning back on the plastic chair behind the desk. "Ah, seriously..." he mutters under his breathe as he massages his temples. Then he stops and leans forward again, tilting his body towards Jiwoo who looks back at him with a blank expression. "Give yourself a rest, will ya? Give yourself a rest, and give all the other students rests. This school is already chaotic as it is-"

"Why do you even keep talking like the principal?" Jiwoo suddenly asks, cutting of Heeseung again whose eyebrows lift at her words.

"... Sorry?"

Jiwoo leans forward onto the desk, getting quite close with Heeseung who has his brows furrowed at her. "Why. Are. You. Acting. Like. A. Principal?" she repeats, word by word, tapping Heeseung on his forehead with a pencil that was on the desk with every word she said.

The boy huffs, and he moves away as he grabs Jiwoo's hand to make her stop hitting him. "Ugh! Seriously, do you hate me or something?!" he asks, soon looking back at Jiwoo with a scolding gaze.

Jiwoo retorts with a silly question. "Do you like me? Why do you keep calling me to the student council office then if I'm just repeatedly stressing you out?"

"It's for your own goo-"

"Oh, please! I'm not taking that crap," Jiwoo says before Heeseung could finish, looking away from him as she lets go of the pencil in her hand, making Heeseung let go of her hand as before resting his own hand on the desk.

For a moment, a silence takes over, but it doesn't stop Heeseung from continuously frowning at Jiwoo who continues to ignore him. But soon, Heeseung speaks up.

"What do you want to hear then?"

Almost immediately, Jiwoo's expression lifts, and a playful smile plays on her lips before she turns to Heeseung again, placing her chin on the back of her propped-up hand, as the boy turns away from her for a second to rehydrate. "Shall we talk about your younger sister's new boyfriend then?"

Heeseung ends up spraying the water in his mouth in the next second.

"Heejin is my girlfriend!" Taehyun shouts, shocking everyone in the room, including Heejin who had just come into their classroom after having done her errand.

A second later, the boy eventually catches sight of her, and his eyes widen as well upon meeting her eyes.

Eventually, though, Heejin also sees the boys surrounding Taehyun, and it doesn't take long for her to realize what's going on. Immediately, she changes her expression before approaching the scene. "Jeon Doyum, what do you think you're doing with him?!" she asks, sounding angry and frowning, eventually catching all the other students' attention as they watch her approach Taehyun's "attacker". "Step away from the new kid, please!" she then says, pushing away at the boy.
