Ch. 28: Naive Ms. Song

"Oh... so you're not friends?"

With a clueless, innocent expression, Jinwoo looks towards Sohee, the latter of which wears a frown on her face after Riki wouldn't stop bothering her again.

"No. Never," Sohee replies firmly, before she grunts and shoves Riki's arms away from over her head. "Get off me, you leech!"

"Hey, now! That's not really a nice thing to say now, is it?" Riki responds playfully as usual, and Sohee only rolls her eyes at him in response before walking away. "Hey. Hey, Sohee!" Riki continues calling after her, though only becoming more amused as the girl continues to ignore him. Eventually, though, he lets her go, and he only shakes his head as he turns back to Jinwoo, only to jump when he sees him staring straight at him. "Jeez! Gosh, that scared me!"

"What? It's not like you weren't aware that I was here, were you?" Jinwoo responds, though his eyes sparkled in curiosity as he proceeded to ask Riki questions. "How were you able to have that kind of relationship with Sohee? I mean, she seems like the tough-nut-to-crack kind of person. How did you manage to get her to talk to you like that? Are you two really not friends?"

"Woah, woah, woah! Slow down!" Riki extends his arms palms out to Jinwoo, and as soon as he does, Jinwoo stops. "What's that about? I mean, I know you want to get along with everybody, but if I didn't know any better, I would have thought you were interested in her."

Suddenly, Jinwoo falls silent. And he directs his gaze towards the floor as his lips seem to be holding back a smile.

Riki's eyes immediately widen. "Wait, you do?!"

"N-no!" Jinwoo raises his head, meeting Riki's eyes with his just as wide. But, of course, the latter wouldn't be so quick to believe that.

In fact, if anything, he only found it as a reason to tease Jinwoo... and to tease Sohee even more.

"Ayy, who knew our sweet, lovable Jinwoo would eventually start liking someone?"

"That's not it..." Jinwoo mumbles.

"Hey, I should tell Sohee!" Riki continues to tease him, standing up with an excited expression on his face, but Jinwoo grabs the former's arm to stop him.

"Wait, no! I told you, I don't like her!" he shouts frantically, trying not to let Riki go. Though, unfortunately, he didn't even think of his own mouth spilling their conversation. And to the whole class, even.

Jinwoo immediately pauses when he notices that the classroom had fallen silent. And one look around, and he realizes that he had exposed himself. Not a second even passed before he was met with playful smiles and faces.

"Ayy? What's this about, Jinwoo?" a boy asks, wiggling his brows.

"Is it true? Is there someone you like?" someone else follows with a genuine curious look in their eyes.

"Who is it? Who is it?!" another asks with excitement, almost jumping towards Jinwoo while asking.

"I swear, it's not what you think!" Jinwoo quickly responds, holding up his palms defensively as he stands up. Unconsciously, his eyes scan the room, looking for that one girl who he thinks he might have made comfortable, but as soon as he lays his eyes on her, it was already too late for him to realize.

They know where he's looking.

"Oh my gosh, it's Min Sohee?!" a student shouts out, standing on a chair and pointing at the mentioned girl whose eyes suddenly widen at the mention of her name. And immediately, the whole classroom falls into a united gasp.
