[*sob* I'm sorry... But I really couldn't think of anyone else to call... *sob* He broke up with me, Heeseung...]
Heeseung's eyes widen and he perks up immediately at Jiwoo's words on the other side of the call, before he turns to the gymnasium's entrance. "W-what? Wait a minute. Jiwoo, where are you?" Before he even realizes it, his feet start leading him out of the gymnasium, all the while, Jiwoo continues talking through the phone, not heeding his words or his question.
[He said he'd leave me if I didn't stop seeing you, but you... *sob* I hate you. This is all your fault.]
Heeseung's feet land heavily on the concrete with every step he takes towards the gate. All the while, he keeps alert as he looks around him, trying his best to keep the girl on the call while he looks for her. "Jiwoo, where are you? Just tell me where you are then we can talk about this-"
[Like hell I would!]
Heeseung's steps falter at the girl's words, and for a moment, he freezes, just as he made it out of the school gate and Jiwoo speaks again with desperation in her voice, and a sob cutting through her words.
[Like hell I'd tell you where I am... I don't... I don't want you to see me like this. I...]
"Jiwoo... Look up."
Heeseung suddenly speaks, and all as he stands in front of the bus stop, facing the girl he had been looking for while she hangs her head while crying. Jiwoo's eyes widen a second later, however, and she looks up, soon seeing Heeseung as the latter looks at her with sympathy in his eyes. Not a single word comes out of him anymore as he hangs up the call.
In the end, it was still Heeseung that gave her the comfort she truly needed, and in the moment it took for Jiwoo to realize that, she stood up, and let her feet lead her straight into the boy's arms before crying once again. She remains frozen, just pushing her body up against his, not knowing whether she should even hold on to him or not, but eventually, Heeseung hugs her first, letting her tears fall while she continues to talk.
"Yunhwan... was my life. What am I suposed to do now?"
Eventually, the two teens ended up back in the bus stop, sitting beside each other on the bench and just looking ahead, silence enveloping them and neither one of them seemingly wanting to break it.
However, Jiwoo eventually does just that, starting her words with a sigh and a playful smile on her face. "Ah, I really didn't want you to see me like that, though."
In turn, Heeseung turns to her, but his expression remains soft and sympathetic as he looks at the girl sitting beside him. "Then why'd you even call me anyway?" he asks eventually, his tone soft as well, and Jiwoo's playful smile turns into a sad one as she slowly lowers her gaze.
"... Like I said, you were the only one I could think of to call. It really was just you, so... I guess that was kinda unfortunate."
Heeseung frowns as he asks another question. "What's unfortunate about that?"
And this time, Jiwoo laughs again at his response. "I meant, that it was just you! Of course, since it was you, I guess that makes me a little lucky!"
All of a sudden, Heeseung feels heat rising up to his cheeks at her words, and he quickly looks away in an attempt to calm himself. But then a second later, he frowns again, and all because a certain thought that had been bothering him for a while reoccurs to him. This time, he no longer hesitates to ask Jiwoo. "Did you really love that jerk? Like... were you sure?"
Jiwoo turns back to him with her eyes slightly wide, before she breathes out a bitter chuckle and smiles sadly once again. "Well, love works in really weird ways sometimes, you know? And I guess, mine just so happened to be the weirdest..."
