Knock, knock!
The door opens at the front of the Lee resident, and upon looking out, Jinwoo's brows rise at the visitor behind the door.
"Oh? Taehyun-hyung!"
Taehyun stands at the door with a smile on his face, lifting up plastic bags filled with containers presumed to be food. Well, technically they are. "Hey! Is your, uh... sister here?" The boy peers inside, scanning the inside of the house before a voice from the kitchen replies.
"Took you long enough to come!"
Only... it wasn't the kind of voice he was expecting at all.
"What the–" Taehyun's brows furrow at the sound of that voice, and not long after, Jay comes out to threshold of the kitchen, leaning on the wall as he eyes the newcomer.
"Oh, great! And you brought leftovers, too. Wonderful!" Jay exclaims with an eye roll and a sarcastic tone.
"Oh? And I assume you might have come here with permission first?" Taehyun claps back.
Almost instantly, Jinwoo — who got stuck in the middle — could almost feel the electric tension building up between the two. And an awkward smile forms on his face as he tries to think of a way to break the tension...
Only for help to eventually arrive.
"Oh, you're here?" Heejin asks as she comes walking down the stairs, greeting Taehyun first, before her eyes land on the plastic bags hanging from his hand. "Oh, and you brought extra food! Is that from the restaurant you work for?"
"Uh, yeah," the boy replies as he and Jay eventually turn their attention away from each other, both almost simultaneously turning to Heejin instead. "So, like... where do I leave this?"
"In the counter in the kitchen. You'll have to help Jay in there once you're done though."
"I'd rather have a rat help me," Jay mutters under his breath as he glares at Taehyun, but his words don't really do well at escaping Heejin's senses.
"Honestly, I could have that, too, but I'd rather not spend the rest of winter lying on a hospital bed due to food poisoning," she tells him, before she turns to Taehyun to gesture to him. "You two, help each other out and try not to fight too much. Jinwoo's watching." With that, she goes straight to the backyard, leaving the two boys stunned while Jinwoo stands even more shocked.
"W-what? Hey, Noona!" the youngest boy shouts, hints of panic in his voice just as he feels the electric tension returning yet again. "Oh, boy."
Eventually, though, Heeseung soon comes in, Mrs. Lee coming along to help in the kitchen as well, while Jinwoo takes this opportunity to run out to the backyard to help Heejin and their father instead. And, at the same time, call out his sister for leaving him to deal with the two boys acting like cat and dog in the kitchen.
"Noona! How could you be so cruel? Do you know how hard it was being in the same room as those two? They're basically mortal enemies!" Jinwoo whines as he reached his sister and father preparing the grill.
"Well, at least, I can be sure they won't try to kill each other when you're around," Heejin responds monotonically.
"Noona!"
"Why? Are those two boys really fighting over you?" Mr. Lee suddenly comments, this time, causing Heejin's eyes to widen.
"What?! No, of course, no–"
