"Okay. I guess that's all we'll be doing by the end of this year, then." With the closing of his notebook, the meeting of the student council ends and all the members stand. One of them being Heeseung who, as the president, had to sit away from his sibling for this lunch break to have a meeting with his peers.
Heeseung was always quite a busy person, even as just a student. Heck, he didn't even work any part-time jobs yet, but it might as well just feel that way for him! He was just... very involved in a lot of things in school, most of which were just the many things he was interested in.
Yup. Heeseung was really just the type to always get involved in his interests, yet not so much in things that didn't really catch his attention much. So, why exactly, he wondered, would he be getting himself so involved in a certain Son Jiwoo's lovelife?
Heeseung turned the corner as he left the cafeteria. He had quite a lot on his mind, and the thought of the troubled teenager only added to those thoughts. Not that he minded. But he just couldn't help it, either. And that he minded.
"How is she even doing now?" he wonders. He hasn't even seen her much at all since that last conversation in the student council's office. And even if he did see Jiwoo, somehow, the girl was always so quick to run when she saw him.
Heeseung recalls an incident from just a day ago. It's funny enough that Jiwoo was clearly avoiding him. But the fact that she still tried to while they shared almost all their classes together?
She was always the first to leave the classroom... and the last to enter. And even if Heeseung tried to call her to the office by asking someone else to bring her over, she just never complied. Even if he tried to mask himself as Heejin being the one calling for Jiwoo.
The boy lets out a sigh. "I guess it's really gonna be hard to reach her now, is it?" he speaks with a dejected tone.
Just as he finished, however, his words almost get cut off when a student rushes past him, bumping into his shoulder and suddenly losing balance in the process.
"Whoa?!" Heeseung exclaims as he turns to catch the student, and as soon as he does, he quickly realizes who the student is. "What the- Jiwoo?!"
Jiwoo's eyes are wide as her gaze lands on the boy. It seems she really didn't expect herself to land in this kind of situation. But what makes it even worse? She had only managed to successfully avoid him for two days, and yet...
"G-get off me!" Jiwoo harshly shouts as she pushes herself away from Heeseung. She manages to regain her balance, but that didn't necessarily mean that she was free, as the boy still had his hand wrapped around one of her arms. "Hey-"
"Hey, why are you avoiding me?" Heeseung suddenly asks her, surprising Jiwoo as her eyes widen yet again. The boy seemed more confused than upset, though, and that only made Jiwoo even more surprised.
"W-what's that even..." Her voice trails off, but as soon as she notices the boy's grip on her, her former aggression returns. "What's that even supposed to mean?! You know exactly why! Why would I ever listen to anything you say?!"
"Hey-"
Now this was causing a scene in the school hallways. Quite a few students have stopped in their steps to watch, and as Heeseung sensed the eyes on the two of them, he began to worry about how much attention this could pug on them.
Biting his lip, Heeseung turns to Jiwoo. "Look. I get that you're upset, but let's just bring this somewhere more quiet, alright?" He turns to start walking away while pulling the girl behind him, but Jiwoo doesn't budge. And his eyes widen as he turns back to her.
"I don't want to." Jiwoo looks down as she spoke those words. Her voice was quiet, and that made Heeseung turn back to her again, waiting for her to continue. "You're just going to bring me back to your stupid office and make me feel like a fool while you sit behind that fancy desk of yours."
