"Gah!" Sohee exclaims as soon as she wakes up, flying into a sitting position as soon as she does and scanning the place she had ended up in.
The clinic. Not that she had ever been in here before, but the white walls with the peeling paint and the clear cupboards with the medicine bottles and other paraphernalia in them let her know.
"How..." she wonders as she continued looking around, only for her to jump again when she sees a body in the bed opposite hers. "Gah!" she yelps this time, as she spots the person. But soon her shocked expression changes, and it soon turns into confusion, and then curiosity, as she begins to recognize the sleeping person on the other bed. "... Jinwoo?"
Well, this was odd.
If Sohee only knew that her body wouldn't be able to handle the cold weather today, she would have tried to wear thicker clothing. This was a first, after all. She might have winter sickness, but that didn't mean that she couldn't handle going to school with it. So it was strange that she'd faint all of a sudden one winter day.
But what was even stranger was that she just so happened to faint with this certain classmate of hers on the same day. Heck, she never even realized that she had someone in the same grade level with the same winter sickness!... Until now that is.
Lee Jinwoo, the boy who had found her teddy bear keychain lying on the ground one summer day. He came off as a normal student to her at first, but why was he suddenly beginning to become more... "certain"?
"Seriously, what is this kid's problem," Sohee mumbles under her breath as she continues observing the boy lying on the other bed.
And then he opens his eyes.
Sohee lets out a surprised yell when he does so, because not only did he open his eyes at such an awkward moment, it just happened so suddenly. Jinwoo's eyes flung open, and that was enough to scare Sohee and make her jump on the bed she sat on before her shoulder hit the wall. "Ah!" she gasps, pain shooting through her shoulder upon contact. And the next thing she knows, Jinwoo is quickly sitting up on his bed.
"Are you okay? What happened? Did you hit your shoulder?" he asks with concern showing in his eyes and voice. But he would only be met by Sohee's harsh voice as per usual.
"This is your fault, idiot!" she yells at him, before she turns to her shoulder which she had cupped with her hand. "Ugh, my shoulder hurts..." she whimpers under her breath.
Jinwoo could only watch her quietly as she did that. Well, he knew that she didn't really mean to be mean or anything whenever she talked like that. Maybe it's just what she's gotten used to. But the boy sure did wish she could somehow at least make her feel... a bit more comfortable with being real with him.
"I just wish you'd trust me," Jinwoo spoke suddenly, and that caused Sohee to raise her brows and turn back to him.
"W-what?..."
"I wish you'd trust me," the boy repeats, before he smiles a little as he looks at the girl with his innocent eyes. "I know you're not really all that mean, and I promise I won't judge you. I just wish you could feel more comfortable to be yourself around me."
Now that... Sohee didn't really know how to respond to.
For a moment, she felt annoyed... Or maybe she just wanted to feel annoyed. Weird thing is, she didn't. And so, that just left her staring at Jinwoo with her jaw open, not knowing how to respond.
Until she caught her composure.
"W-what are you talking about?" Sohee breathes out, as if Jinwoo had just said something crazy. And she restlessly plays with her hair as she turns away from him and turns to her bedsheets instead. And her face heated up.
