Monday morning.

And just like always, Jay arrived earlier to school to head to the dance room after dropping off his bag in the classroom, and just like always, he already looked exhausted, even with the day just ending.

And well, to make things worse, the first (and only) person he sees when he enters the classroom was only bound to make him feel even worse.

Taehyun turns his head as soon as Jay enters the classroom, and upon their eyes meeting, Jay sneers before he rolls his eyes and eventually approaches his seat, just right behind the one beside Taehyun's seat. He drops his bag onto the furniture, and shortly after doing so, he folds his arms and stands behind his seat, eyeing Taehyun with an unimpressed expression.

"I heard you won our little challenge," Jay speaks, not really wanting to be friendly with "the new kid".

Fortunately (or unfortunately) for him, it seems Taehyun felt the same way. And as the latter looked back at him with an uninterested look on his face, Taehyun spoke, his tone laced with sarcasm and lacking in the usual fear he had. "I heard you already told Heejin you like her."

Jah jerks upon hearing those words. Not that they weren't true... but they sure did seem personal! And he almost tries to make Taehyun stop by threatening him as usual, but remembering how the latter glared at him that night of the festival, he holds himself back. "Well," he replies, a sarcastic laugh playing in between his words, "What's it even to you?"

"I also heard she rejected you. And she did it in your own home, too."

"Now how did you even-!" This time, Jay's eyes widen, not in surprise, but rather in disbelief and anger as he eyes the unbothered Taehyun. Not even holding himself back anymore, he glares at the other boy before he speaks. "Hey-!"

But he quickly stops... especially when he hears a strange statement from the hallways outside the classroom:

"Hey, did you hear? Apparently, there's a runaway kid in our school."

"What? No way! A squatter?!"

"Haha! No?! What is he supposed to be living in our school, too, or something?"

"I mean, you never know... With how they say he is, I doubt he'd be the kind to work for himself... Especially considering what kind of household he came from."

Two girls, just passing by the classroom, and talking about something that sounds way too familiar to Jay. Almost as if... they were talking about him?

"Hmm? What's that about? Sounds like there's another rumor going around the school?" Taehyun asks, wondering as he looks towards the hallways.

Meanwhile, Jay frowns, his eyes on the hallways as well even after the girls had passed. It was definitely strange, and he just couldn't help but feel like something bad is about to happen. Still, he leaves not much of a comment to what Taehyun had said this time. "Yeah... weird..."

Time passed, and second period is already just around the corner. Yet, the strange events didn't stop. Jay could feel it. A lot of eyes were on him since even before first period started.

And even more strange, was the fact that Heejin hasn't come to school yet.

"What is she late or something? She's never late, though? What if she got sick while visiting me...?" With his brows furrowed, Jay glances towards the seat beside his, still empty just like it's been the past hour. Still, even as he did, the feeling of having many eyes on him didn't disappear.
