Ch. 6: The Girl In The Photo

"Alright, let's just practice the usual and then we can go to our own classes. And a-one, a-two, a-one, two, three, go!"

Beomgyu starts strumming his guitar at Heeseung's words, and soon enough Kai starts playing the drums at the same time Heeseung starts singing.

"Say what you want,
Look at me,
I refuse indifference."

As usual just like every morning, the school band Zenith was up early in the music room practicing again. Heeseung is as always at the lead as the vocalist and leader, and accompanying him are Beomgyu at the guitar, Kai at the drums, and Geonu with the bass. Though, of course, as a band, sometimes it can't be helped that some of the instrumentalists would be singing as well. Especially Geonu.

"Everyone looks at me,
Popularity and love,
I want to have them all!"

"Oh, no~ I don't know- uhm, ack!" Geonu exclaims before everyone stops playing and he turns around to face the other band members. "Sorry, guys! I forgot the lyrics!"

Kai whines in the back in response, meanwhile Beomgyu just sighs quietly to himself. Heeseung, however, goes over to Geonu before patting him in the shoulder encouragingly.

"Hey. It's okay. Everyone makes mistakes, and we're still getting used to this new song," he reassure the bassist, before he gives Kai a side-eye and an almost scolding glare. "Am I right, Kai?"

The youngest member of the band widens his eyes and points at himself, before he eventually just chuckles nervously, eventually remembering that he had messed up the whole song the other day because his drumming was off beat.

"Anyway! Let's just go back to practice now so we can still have time to do other stuff in class, alright?" Heeseung announces as he moves away from Geonu and gets in his position again. However, right at that moment...

Ding!

Several notification sounds suddenly echo around the room, and all boys turn to each other. It's a sign that something new had been posted at the school's online forum.

Kai almost digs his hand into his pocket to take his phone out, but Heeseung quickly speaks to stop him.

"It's probably just another gossip going around school. Let's just to practice and-"

"Uhm, Heeseung..." Beomgyu interferes, however, and as Heeseung and all others turn to him, they eventually notice the stunned look on his face. "I'm pretty sure you'd want to look at this."

Heeseung's brows furrow, and then he eventually takes his phone out to see just what had been posted on the school forum.

His eyes widen as soon as he sees two familiar faces and names on the post.

Slam!

The door is closed shut, and soon as that happens, Heejin locks it tight before turning to Taehyun who she had dragged to the storage room for his own safety. "Alright, what tHE HELL DID YOU DO?! Didn't I tell you to steer clear of Go Jinhee?!"

"W-well, how was I supposed to know what she looked like?! You never showed me her picture!" Taehyun retorts, but he soon quickly takes it back as he turns away and finds himself panicking again in the situation he had found himself in. This was definitely bigger than whatever conflict he had caused to happen between him and Jay. Because now, the whole school even got involved. "Maybe I really should have just acted smarter instead of letting my pride get to me...."
