Ch. 12: Meeting the Whole Family

"You guys... I seriously can't believe you would do something like this," Heejin mutters in disappointment, yet her voice was still loud enough for both Heeseung and Jinwoo to hear as they sat heads-down inside the restaurant. "Oppa, how could you even bring Jinwoo into this, too?"

"Hey, why am I the only one being apprehended here?" Heeseung complains, to which both Heejin and Jinwoo glare at him in response.

"Hyung!"

"Oppa!"

"Alright, alright! I know what I did was wrong... But how could you expect me to just leave it be when you were literally going on a dinner date with some random new kid you just met?!" Heeseung asks Heejin, only to get whacked on the head with a ladle. "Ow!"

"What do you mean dinner date?! Taehyun was just going to treat me to dinner in exchange for all the help I gave him! And besides, where did you even hear about that happening?!"

Heeseung mumbles something, but granted, it was too quiet for anyone to hear.

"What?" Heejin asks him, probably a bit too harshly, and in response, Heeseung shouts out his answer.

"Jiwoo told me about it!" Heeseung yells, and right after, he draws back as if he were ashamed of the truth. Only, if anything, Heejin was just surprised and confused.

"You're lying," she then concludes, "I thought you hated Jiwoo? Why would you believe in anything she says?"

"I mean, that's exactly why we spied on you??" Heeseung responds in his defense, and along with that, Jinwoo speaks up as well.

"It's true, actually. Jiwoo-noona called him, and it wasn't until they finished that Heeseung asked me if I wanted to go spying on someone."

"Hey–"

"Oppa?!"

"Alright! I get it! I'm sorry," Heeseung finally says, then he pouts in frustration as he looks down on the floor... "I mean, it would be so much better if you just invited him to come eat with us at home–"

"Hyung!" Jinwoo scolds his older brother again, but is eventually surprised when Heejin holds up her index finger to stop him, and she seems to be thinking about it, even.

"Actually... That doesn't sound too bad of an idea..."

"Huh?" Jinwoo.

"What?" Heeseung.

"Sorry?" Taehyun, and with that, all three of the Lee siblings suddenly turn to him who had been seated in a separate chair, listening all this time. "I-I-I- W-what?"

"We're finally hooooooome!" Jinwoo shouts, letting his voice penetrate through the house's every wall as he runs through the door and past his companions before plopping face-down onto the couch.

Behind him, his older siblings Heeseung and Heejin came in, followed by Taehyun who carried paper bags containing the food he had packed. That is, food from the restaurant they just came from.

"Mom! We have a visitor!" Heejin then announces to the house, and to that, an almost-immediate response returns to her.

"Really? Who?"

"A classmate!" Heejin shouts back, and with that, she turns to Taehyun behind her with a straight face. "Follow me. Let's leave those things in the kitchen and I'll introduce you to my mom." She gestures to the paper bags in Taehyun's hands, then she points towards the kitchen while nodding her head. "Come on."
