Ch. 32: Not So Sweet Winter

Winter had finally come. And though a lot of people were anticipating it, not really everyone was anticipating the early coming of the first snow...

And Lee Jinwoo was definitely one of the latter.

"Achoo!" The boy sneezes yet again, and a second later, he rubs his red nose with his free hand, his other hand preoccupied with the umbrella he held over his head while he and his siblings walked together to school in the early morning snow.

Well, the snowfall this morning wasn't really all that heavy for one to be carrying an umbrella. But with how much more sensitive Jinwoo is to the cold in comparison to his siblings, the umbrella just really could not be rid of at all.

"Just why am I more disadvantaged than you guys when it comes to cold seasons?" Jinwoo asks, still rubbing his nose and threatening to sneeze again for the nth time. "I mean, how are you guys literally okay with no umbrella?!"

Just a little bit ahead of the boy, both his older sibling walked with no umbrella of their own, seemingly fine with the weather. In fact, Heejin didn't even have her hood on, just letting the snow fall onto her hair.

"How many times are you gonna ask that, Jinwoo? You've been asking that same question since you were like four or something already," Heejin states, not really showing much interest in her younger brother's concerns.

"And, it isn't really that bad if you look at it, too," Heeseung interjects. "I mean, look at you looking all cute with your red nose! Best believe that's gonna catch your crush's attention."

"Hey! Who said I had a crush?! Achoo!" Jinwoo retorts, only to sneeze yet again right after finishing his sentence.

And Heejin's eyes widen as she turns to him. "Wait, what?! Who? Who do you have a crush on? Is that person in your class?"

"Ugh, I already said I don't have a crush on anyone!" Jinwoo exclaims, rubbing his nose and becoming annoyed with his incessant sneezing and his annoying siblings.

"Alright, alright," Heeseung replies, laughing lightly, while Heejin in between the two boys frowns.

"Hey, how come I don't know?"

"Noona..." Jinwoo begins to complain again, but he stops when Heeseung suddenly ruffles his sister's hair.

"Hey, that's alright, Heejin! There's more you don't actually know about!"

"Wait, what?" Jinwoo replies cluelessly.

Meanwhile, Heejin replies with a bewildered expression. "Hey! What are you guys hiding from me?!"

"Nothing!" Jinwoo replies, and Heeseung only continues laughing as the three of them continue walking to school.

Well, it seems Jinwoo's sneezing isn't really going away anytime soon. Not even after he had gotten into his classroom where it's supposedly warmer than outside. And apparently, he's not the only one in his class that sneezes when it's cold.

"Achoo!" At the exact same time, Sohee suddenly finds herself sneezing with someone else in the class, and in response, her eyes widen before she turns to what seems to be a just-as-surprised Jinwoo.

"Oh... you have winter sickness, too?" Jinwoo asks the girl with curious eyes. But Sohee — being Sohee — only turns her head away from him before she responds.
