Ch. 31: Belated Birthday

"Hyung... I think I did something bad." With an ominous vibe around him and his face frozen as he looked down at the drums infront of him, Kai spoke as if he had just commited a murder.

And Heeseung and Geonu looked at each other in concern and confusion. Though, with a little bit of doubt, too.

"... What is it?" Heeseung finally asks after a moment, turning to their youngest member as he approached him at the same time. But he had barely even placed his hand on the boy's shoulder when Kai suddenly bursts into an explaining fit.

"I mean, I didn't do anything! But it's not like I did anything either. It was just so shocking and I didn't know what to do because everyone was suddenly throwing dodgeballs at her and I could barely see a thing and the next thing I know, Ms. Song was crying, and I-

"Wait, did you just say Ms. Song?" Heeseung's brows furrow at the name he heard.

"I let Ms. Song be bullied, hyung!" Kai concludes before he even finished, suddenly throwing himself against Heeseung as he cries dramatically.

Heeseung's eyes widen at the sudden movements of the younger boy, but soon his expression changes, as he remembers something his younger siblings had told him last night.

"The students at our school are becoming more and more reckless."

"I'm worried about Ms. Song, hyung."

His younger siblings had spoken up about it. Now even Kai had, too. And what makes it all worse is the fact that all three of them are from different classes... Is Ms. Song actually being bullied by the whole school population?

"Uh, what in the world..." Taehyun's voice captures the attention of the band members, and upon turning, they see him looking towards Heeseung and Kai with a very confused expression. Rightfully, so, since the latter just so happened to have his arms around the older's boys waist. "Mind explaining what's going on?"

Almost immediately, Heeseung places his hands on Kai's shoulders before pushing the latter away from him. Kai responds by letting out a small yelp before whimpering. "Ahem!... I heard there's been problems with the new teacher? So you've witness it, too?" Heeseung asks with a calm voice, but the look in his eyes hinted concern.

Though, it wouldn't take long before the atmosphere in the room takes a huge turn, thanks to Taehyun's news.

"Oh, you mean, Ms. Song? It's all good, though. Heejin's got it covered."

"...What?!"

"Wait, you're serious?!" Kai asks, jumping up and looking towards Taehyun with hopeful eyes. And when he gets no signs of the newcomer joking, he begins running towards Taehyun with his arms open. "Oh, thank you! You're such a lifesav-"

He doesn't get to reach his aim, though, since Taehyun quickly holds his arm out to keep the boy from reaching him. "Uhm... I'd rather not be hugged? Sorry."

Once again, Kai whimpers, and he droops. Though his head remains pushed against Taehyun's palm.

And then Heeseung speaks up again. "Wa-wa-wa-wait... Heejin handled the situation? But why? I-I mean- How even..."

Taehyun only smiles and shrugs, recalling what had just happened last night when Heejin had quickly thought of an idea just from realizing their new teacher's birthday. And though it wasn't really surefire, the boy believed it was bound to have some sort of effect...
