A long, deep sigh escapes Geonu followed by a low groan as he walks down the hallway beside Heeseung. And with his whining, Heeseung eventually turns to him before his eyes travel to the tablet in Geonu's hands. In it is a poster about the upcoming Battle of the Bands for the current year. It's still six months away, but Geonu was clearly already feeling nervous about it. Especially after the mistake he had made during band practice today.
"We only have six months until the next music festival, and I'm still making mistakes," Geonu grumbles to himself but loud enough for Heeseung to hear.
And in response, Heeseung side-eyes him before raising his index finger to state a point. "Correction: We still have six months left till the music festival. We still have a lot of time to practice so don't beat yourself up too much about it," Heeseung reassures his bandmate, to which Geonu smiles and nods.
"Yeah, thanks..." Geonu replies, before he just stretches his arms back and quickly changes the topic. "Anyway! Forget about my problems! What about yours?! Or rather, what about Heejin's... How's she doing right now, by the way? Did you check on her?"
"Huh? O-oh, uhm..." Heeseung stutters, and as he looks away, he tries to think of a way to respond without neither making him look like a bad brother... or exposing the truth about Heejin and Taehyun.
"We are NOT dating, but please, please don't tell anyone! You're the only one who knows this apart from me and Taehyun... and Jay," Heejin had told him at home the night before to which Heeseung was quick to reply after hearing the last name.
"Wait, what? Why Jay?" He had asked, wondering what business his younger sister's seatmate had knowing a secret only he and those involved should know.
"Oh, you know how he is. He kept bugging me about it so I just had to tell him," Heejin had replied with an eye roll. And immediately, Heeseung understood.
"Oh... that makes sense."
"She seemed to be doing fine," Heeseung eventually replies to Geonu after a moment or two. "Yeah, that's what it looked like. But I don't really know if she's hiding her pain or not..." He lets the last word drag out, especially since he wasn't really sure if Heejin would have wanted him to be talking about her biggest lie like that.
"Seriously, wHO ALLOWED HER TO JUST MAKE UP SUCH A HUGE LIE LIKE THAT?!"
But Geonu actually buys what he said, and he just nods as he continues scrolling through his tablet. "Yup. I guess that's just Heejin. You can never really tell what she really feels sometimes."
Heeseung's eyes widen at the fact that Geonu believed him, and he turns to him only to see that the latter had gone back to looking at the school forum again. Immediately, his brows furrow. "And why are you looking at that post again?"
Geonu doesn't reply to his question. Instead, he just states his opinion as he reads through the comments under the post slandering Taehyun. "But then again, I don't know about you, but you think Heejin would feel better seeing how almost everyone in school is against that new kid now after that post had been put up?"
"Hmm? What do you mean?" Heeseung raises his brows cluelessly, looking at the screen of the table now until Geonu eventually hands the tablet to him.
"Everyone's been hating on that Taehyun-kid since that post came out. There were even death threats and stuff in there," Geonu states, and his words along with the actual comments Heeseung was reading makes him extremely worried.
Just how is Taehyun doing now exactly? Does Heejin know just how much danger he's in right now?
"Hey," Heeseung calls out to Geonu, reaching for the latter's arm as his eyes remain on the screen. "... Does anyone know where Taehyun is? Do you think Heejin..." Heeseung suddenly stops, however, when he looks up from the screen and sees a crowd of students up ahead. And not only that, past the crowds were the very two people he meant to look for, Heejin and Taehyun, kissing in the middle of the crowd. "...knows..."
