I feel we're speaking two different languages
Two different tongues
And no matter my intention, no matter my desire
The outcomes always appear conflicted
I think the world of you, I love to you see you smile
But you feel stifled, upset even with words I keep light
It's like watching every well placed intention
Every well aimed letter
Miss its mark, miss its point
But I'm not stupid
And I'm not hopeless
I've begun to see why we may be fated as such
At this point, I cannot say much
But how I how I wish you understood how high I carry you in my regard
That every concerned voice was out of caring, not of harshness
I wonder if I can ever learn how to speak to you in a way you'll listen
It's not a different language we speak, it's the same
And yet it couldn't be more different in the way we see the world
What a wicked fate I've found, how cruel our desires to be
To be happy, to be true.
