Another Summer

As the sun looks on, my skin begins to burn

A bronze tone reflected into the distance

Sweat dripping from my brow as I beg the sky to keep me from melting

I am all but eager to exhale more hot air into my room

I can feel the unwelcome kisses of heat as I toss and turn

But this doesn't seem to be just another Summer, no

This one feels endless, with no ambition, and no desire to change

It's a lazy heat that seems to drive me crazy

Wish it would find another soul to torment

But with sticky air and cotton balls for tongues, all I can hope is that summer learns to move on, as must I

Because even in an endless summer, there is still so much more to do.
