If you asked me if we go to a worse place when we die,
I'd laugh at you maybe
I used to think hell was a place beyond our existence, but I am beginning to think it's in front of us
Staring us in the eyes every time we open our eyes
That isn't to say there isn't good in the world, or that there is wonder
This is to say, there is suffering and misery aplenty
And it builds, and builds as days go on
Hell is no hotter than a summer's day I wonder
There has been so much pain in the way we live our days
Underneath the crushing foot of our circumstances
If hell is worse than this, I wonder what I would have to do to be put there
What it would mean to live in eternal misery, no different than now I wonder.
