When I see you

I will wear your kisses like flowers on my lips

I will let the stars in your eyes light my way

I will let your heartbeat bring me to sleep

I only worry when that is

It seems everyday that passes, it becomes less likely

But even my dreams, my longing is no weaker

Sometimes I swear I can hear your words carried on the wind

Your warmth taken from the sun

If I see you

I will never take for granted the feeling of touch, of a simple shared gaze

I will never forget to remind you what you make me feel

But it seems the world continues to hurt, and to spiral

I worry about our future's survival

If I never see you

I won't forget the words you gave me, the laughs we shared

I will come to terms with a fading light between us

But I will continue to treasure what almost was

Treasure what we almost attained

Even if all that was left was the thoughts that pained
