Liliana was the first to knock on the door of Dick's old friends, now knowing who he was talking about by the look on his face. She waited and just before she was about to knock again, Dawn was the one who opened the door. "Hey." Dick said and when Liliana looked over at Rachel, she saw that the girl had spotted the tension and awkwardness in the air as well.
"Hi." Dawn offered and then her eyes caught sight of Liliana, who hadn't seen Dawn for years and Liliana offered a hesitant smile. "You grew up Liliana." Dawn murmured and Liliana took that as an invitation to give her a huge hug, as Dawn laughed at her hug. "You filled out, kiddo, it really did take you long enough." Dawn pointed out.
"I've still got a couple good growing years, I think, if my knowledge of puberty is right." Liliana stated and Dawn was chuckling at Liliana's unintentionally funny comments, as they all came inside and Liliana immediately dropped her stuff on one of the couches.
"Uh, no. You are not sleeping on the couch, that is your brother's chosen spot. You can sleep in the same room as Rachel." Dawn murmured and Liliana was shaking her head a bit at the words. "Why the heck not?" Dawn asked and Liliana sighed.
"Nightmares, bad ones. I get about ten minutes of sleep, before I wake up yelling. Then I spend the rest of the night talking with my friends, who calm me now. All in all, no sleep. For either one of us." Liliana explained and Dawn sighed.
"We have one more guest room for you." Dawn insisted and Liliana picked up her cases and duffel bag, as she followed Dawn and Liliana threw her laptop bag onto the desk in the corner, then her duffel bag went onto the floor in the other corner and her suitcase went under the bed. "Is this better?" Dawn asked.
"Thanks Dawn." Liliana murmured and Dawn smiled a little, as Liliana sat back on the bed and Dawn sat down. "What is it?" Liliana questioned at the sight of her sitting there and Dawn was a little too smiley for anything suspicious, considering that it was Dawn of all people.
"Do you miss it, back in Gotham?" Dawn asked and Liliana looked over at her, lowering her head and nodding in response to the question. "What do you miss the most about it?" Dawn was asking and Liliana shook her head slightly.
"My friends. Well, the few that I have anyways." Liliana admitted and Dawn was smiling at her and looking down at Liliana's arm, where there was the edge of a tattoo sticking out on her arm and she smiled a bit sadly. "I got it after the "death" of Little Bird." Liliana mumbled and she rolled up her jacket sleeve and pushed up her shirt sleeve. She had an eagle with outstretched wings and below it, was a dead, small bird in its' talons.
"Expressive." Dawn stated and Liliana shrugged a bit, as she was shaking her head.
"I was in a bit of a dark spot for awhile after that one." Liliana murmured and Dawn opened her arms to offer her a hug, which Liliana moved into to accept the hug. Liliana looked up when she felt eyes on her and she saw that there was a shadow on the ground. She looked up to see Hank Hall standing in the doorway. "Hey there, Hank." She said with a laugh, as she stood up and jumped into the hug, as Hank was laughing at the sight of her.
"Hey kiddo, how's it going for you?" Hank asked as she hugged him quickly, before jumping onto the floor once again once she noticed that he was in pain. "Woah, nice tattoo." He said as Liliana was grinning, as she showed him the art and behind him, she spotted Dick and Rachel and unfortunately, both of them had spotted the ink before she could cover it up.
"You have a goddamn tattoo?" Dick sounded pissed off about it and Liliana rolled down her sleeve in response to his annoyance, which she thought was extremely uncalled for and judging by his poisonous look toward Dick, Hank agreed with her on the sensitive and subjective topic.
"Leave the kid alone. It isn't like it's a gang tattoo, Grayson." Hank jumped into the conversation for Liliana's defense, which was unsurprising all things considered. The main thing of course, being considered was that Hank Hall detested Dick Grayson and he was most definitely not afraid to show it.
"Could we take this clearly extremely testosterone-fueled conversation out of her room then at least, please?" Dawn was the mediator, as always between the two and Liliana looked at her with a grateful look in her eyes, as the guys grumbled something and both walked out of Liliana's room. "They act more your age, then you do." Dawn remarked and Liliana was smiling a little bit, as Dawn gave her another hug. "I had better make sure that they don't kill each other for these insults of mine and yours." She murmured and Liliana smiled, and Dawn looked at her from the doorway. "Open or closed?" Dawn asked.
"Closed please." Liliana murmured and Dawn nodded at her, as she pulled the door shut and Liliana walked over to the desk.
