It's been a couple days since Willow gone crazy, Buffy talked to her mother and so Willow was going to live with them, they had an extra bedroom, which was great not that I minded having Willow in my house, but it was the better option, all that mattered was Willow was where she wanted to be.
I was in the kitchen sitting at the island with my laptop checking emails and replying to messages. Now that I was getting back into medical school I was finally getting my life back on track.
Anyway while doing that I was working on my chore list since it was chore day.
I had already restocked the blood so that was one less thing I had to worry about.
Taking a drink from my coffee cup, I was staring at my screen and returning an email from Ursa.
Nick came in heading for the fridge and pulled a bottle out of the door. I turned seeing him. He was completely healed; I was glad he wasn't human. He still wasn't very happy with Willow, neither was Dawn.
"Hey how are you doing?" I asked pausing my typing looking at him.
"I'm okay." He told me quietly, flexing out his arm. "Not a scratch, Dawn's mad at Buffy but I think I should be the one to blame."
I frowned seeing the hurt on his face.
"I let it happen." He muttered taking a drink of his blood. "You've told me a thousand times not to go to that part of town and I should have been stronger, I could have protected Dawn better."
"Nicky, you did protect her." I told him earning a scoff. "There was no getting through to Willow, not in that mind set."
"Not good enough, what's good about being what we are if we can't protect our loved ones?" He asked before glaring. "Willow's the one who-"
"Who was drowning." I said cutting him off and gave him a stern look. "My best friend...someone who should have seen the signs and I was too wrapped up in my own life to even notice, it's no one's fault."
He frowned deeper, looking like he was in pain.
"The important thing is you got yourself and the girls out of there." I added gently. "Now you have to learn to forgive and forget." He looked at me. "Forgive Willow and yourself but don't forget and learn from it and thank whoever it was that you all made it out alive."
Suddenly the back door was kicked open, causing us our heads to snap over caught off guard, a blanket covered shape entered, slamming the door shut and threw off the blanket, revealing Spike. He stood up straight, smoothed down his smokey hair and looked up at us.
"Morning."
My head tilted just staring at him wide eyed. He grinned at me like it was nothing.
"I uh..." I muttered clearing my throat and shook my head clear. "What are you doing here? Suns up."
"Just uh took a stroll." He told me smirking. "Found myself in your neck of the woods."
"Couldn't find a less flammable time of day to take a stroll?" I asked smirking in amusement.
"Yeah, well the fact is my lighter's gone missing." He said making me roll my eyes. "Thought it might have, uh dropped outta my pocket the last time I was here."
"Haven't seen it." I retorted, turning to my computer for a second and started shutting it down.
Nick stared between us.
"Uh I think this is my hint to go get dressed and get to school." Nick said clearly grossed out, walking out of the room.
"Right uh okay." I said watching him leave, looking at Spike. "Lame."
