Fear It's Self

"I don't know, I was going for ferocious, scary, but it's coming out more dryly sardonic." Xander said as we sat in his basement, chilling.  It was my favorite time of the year again Halloween.

"It does appear to be mocking you with its eye holes." I told him.

"The nose hole seems sad and full of self-loathing." Oz said, I smirked at him chuckling lightly at our jokes.

"What do you think Buff?" Xander said turning his pumpkin towards Buffy.

"I was just thinking about the life of a pumpkin" Buffy told us playing with her goop of slimy pumpkin. "Grow up in the sun happily entwined with others, then someone comes along, cuts you open and rips your guts out."

"Okay and on that happy note I've got a treat for tomorrow nights second annual Halloween screening" Xander said. "People prepare to have your spines tingled, and Tori that means you, no going off and telling us what's gonna happen" Xander looked at me pulling out a video. I smirked. "Your gooses will be bumped by the terrifying Fantasia...Fantasia?"

"Good pick Xan." I told him sarcastically. "You'll all be shakin in your boots by Unicorns and hippos."

"Maybe it's because of all the horrific things we've seen" Oz said. "But hippos wearing tutus just don't unnerve me the way they used to."

"Phantasm it was supposed to be Phantasm stupid video store."

"I thought we were doing that alph delt thing." Willow said looking over at me.

"What thing?" Xander asked.

"The scary house?" Buffy said. "sounds kinda lame."

"It actually borders on fun." Oz said.

"Mhm you have to go through the scary house maze to get to the party, which is usually worth getting to" I added. "Those guys go all out."

"As witnessed last Friday huh Tor?" Willow said smiling at me.

"Very true." I said nodding. 

"There is a party?" Xander asked making Willow and I share a look.

"We didn't tell you?" Willow asked.

"No it's cool" Xander said. "You guys got your little college thing, I'm fine I mean I got better thing to do than tag along to some Fraternity."

"You can come" I told Xander.

"Okay" Xander said. "But only because I lied about having better things to do."

"A blast will be had by all" Oz joked making me laugh.

"I can't wait it's the only time a year we vamps can vamp out without suspicion of course they'll all be at the King's mansion." I muttered.

"ooh doing that ball thingy you told us about?" Will asked.

"Yeah it's tradition and quite fun and safer for us" I told her frowning. "there's been reports of some vampires going missing."

"Any idea why?" Xander asked

"No they just vanish and turn up a week later different...the authority are not happy." I said shrugging, laying back against Oz's shoulder. "The king says I have to make an appearance and meet with him but after that I'm all yours."

"I'm gonna get going." Buffy told us suddenly getting up.

"Now? tonight's still" Xander said looking at his watch. "Okay it's a little mature but still."

"I'm sleepy you guys have fun." Buffy muttered.

"You want us to come with?" Willow asked.

"No I'm fine" Buffy said and turned leaving.
