New Moon Raising

For the last couple months  I was thrown into work mode, and preparing for my exams, this next semester was going to be harder with no time off. We spent half our time at the hospital. Among that I was also dealing with the bloodstock refill, I wish those people would go away so our lives could get back to normal but I will say that the slayage has been way down. Anyway I was exhausted but I fought against it. Currently Buffy and I were sitting with the gang at Giles.

Buffy and I were sitting beside each other on the desk, while Riley was standing in the living room, Xander sat on the couch with Anya on his lap. Willow and Tara sat close together and Giles was in the kitchen.

"Zippo" Buffy said glancing at me. "Patrol's been totally uneventful...our kill count have been way down."

"She means there's been less bad-guy activity." Willow told Tara.

"Well, we know what that often indicates." Giles said.

"The girls don't make their quota" Xander said shaking a finger at us. "Bad slayers!"

I glanced at him raising an eyebrow then just let the comment go.

"Well" Giles said holding a bag of snacks, pouring it into a bowl. "I wish it were that innocuous, but with Adam around, I feel he's involved somehow."

"When things get slow, it's usually because there's some extra evil brewing." Will said, Tara nodded in understanding. I smiled lightly of their small touch.

"My Sheriff has every underling hunting the woods, so far there's nothing." I told them, sipping on my tru blood. "We're not exactly equipped for hunting a robot-demon thing, a robot has no scent, no scent means no tracking."

"Except the weird thing is, we've been busy at the Initiative." Riley said. "Our squads are pulling a lot more captures. We got demons coming out of our ears."

"That's a metaphor."

"I got it thanks." Tara told her smiling.

"I'm over helping, aren't I?" Will asked nervously causing Tara to laugh lightly.

"So the activity's shifted but not stopped." Giles said coming out of the kitchen with the bowl, handing it to Will, but Willow was focused on Tara. "That's fascinating."

"To an extremely bored person maybe." Anya said.

Giles gave her an annoyed look.

"Well, that was a thrilling hour." Anya added as everyone started to get up.

"You know" Giles told her. "I really don't appreciate your snide remarks, Anya."

I glanced at him a little surprised at his tone.

"Now, I have a great deal of experience in these matters..." Giles continued.

I was going to remark but before I could I sensed someone coming to the door, hearing footsteps and caught onto a scent...woods, musky...My eyes narrowed it was familiar, the door opened causing my head to turn, my mouth nearly dropped.

"And if I say there is a matter of some import brewing I-I." I heard Giles trail off.

In front of me, right directly in front of me...was the last person I expected. Oz, he looked the same maybe a little different.

"Hey."

Oz looked around seeming like he was uncomfortable, served him right. Who the hell did he think he was, thinking he could leave and then come back like it was nothing.

"When did you get back?" Willow asked walking over to my side, sending a glare in his way.

I just couldn't find words, I just stared at him speechless.
