Chapter 8

Ayooooo you already know what to do.

"So you 4 met...how, again?" Jimmy asks us and I look around at the girls who gesture towards me to answer, making me laugh and nod, "Alright so...well, Josephine and I-oh shit, I'm sorry. Jo and I."

The audience breaks out into laughter and Jimmy laughs, pointing at Jo, "Do they always call you that?"

Jo throws her hands up in annoyance and shakes her head, "I always tell her not to! But then they go ahead and call me that anyways. But she usually calls me by my full name when A: they are mad at me, or B: they want to annoy me."

We all laugh at that and I pat Jo's thigh in faux-apology, then smile as the laughter dies down.

"Anyways, though. Jo and I met in high school, then we went to college together. That's where we met Kat and Raven. We were at a club...a little tipsy..." The laughter builds back up and I look at the others who laugh on, knowing the rest of the story I'm about to expose.

"So you were plastered?" Jimmy corrects and we laugh again, nodding.

"Yeah. Yes, definitely. But the club we were all at was doing a karaoke night so...we all, I mean okay, so the thing is." He laughs more and I turn to the audience, gesturing with my hands.

"When you're a woman and you are at a party or out drunk at a bar somewhere. When you have to go to the bathroom, of course other women will be in there and then the thing is, Jimmy, that when a bunch of drunk women are in a bathroom together, it's like love at first sight."

Jimmy slaps his desk, leaning over with unmatched humor, everyone in the crowd laughs along as well. I spot Scarlett backstage, behind the curtain, smiling and laughing with me, her hands on Rose's shoulders.

Rose smiles but she has those headphones on, the ones that protect sensitive ears from loud sounds; Probably a good call for a little 4 year old.

"I'm so serious! When you put a bunch of drunk females in a bathroom together, they'll start crying and hugging, saying 'I love you' or 'we're soulmates.' I'm so serious! And that's literally what happened with us...and then we did karaoke. And boom, band formed."

Jimmy's mouth is dropped open in amused disbelief while everyone cracks up. It's a true story. It was one of the best nights of my life. Even though I don't remember much after the whole karaoke thing. But that was the night we all met and that was the night I knew I gained 3 sisters.

"For real? Kat, are they serious?"

Kat nods with a giggle, "Yes, Y/N is very serious."

"And you all, besides Y/N and Jo, have never met prior to that night?"

"Nope," All 4 of us say in unison.

Jimmy shakes his head with laughter and we all continue on with the interview, discussing the making of the album, any possibilities of a future tour, and the newest single.

When he sends off, cutting to commercials, we all head backstage to get ready for the performance. We get dressed and wait for the stage to be prepped.

I look at Scarlett who mouths, "You got this." My heart does a few flips but my nerves only spike. I have to actually perform in front of her. A song that is about her. This could not be more stressful.

"You guys ready?" Jimmy asks as he approaches and my attention snaps back to the moment. Raven confirms and we head onto the stage in the dark, preparing while Jimmy introduces us.

"Performing their newest single 'Feelings,' give it up for The Rose!"

Everyone cheers as the blue lights come on and we begin. Kat slaps at the bass, smiling proudly at me while I sing and my heart soars when I see people mouthing the lyrics in the crowd, vibing as they stand in their seats.
