Ayooooo, attendance time!

Your POV

"I'm in bed, textin' girls

But I'm thinkin' 'bout you, baby

I'd hit you up, but I'm stuck

Tryin' not to come off crazy

If it were up to me

I'd be callin' you mine already

But I'm in bed, textin' girls

Thinkin' 'bout you baby

I don't know what to say..."

Mumbling to myself in my home studio, I continue scribbling and recording vocals, practicing and figuring out the real pathway of this song.

Tapping my fingers on the touchpad, my eyes are shut while fiddling around with beats and instrumentals. This is all I've been doing the past week since Alison was here and the Colin shit started to hit the fan.

None of this situation is simple, especially since he has been lying about what happened to get a case. And they fucking believed him. Because he has a clean record and I don't. Because he is a cisman and I am not. Because he is a well-respected comedian and I am not.

"Sounds good, this part of the demo track you sent?"

I crane my neck to the door and smile lightly when I see Jo, Kat and Raven come in.

"How'd you guys–" "Scarlett let us in," Jo wiggles her eyebrows teasingly but I just sigh with a small smile and look back at the lyrics.

"I've been trying to figure this out, I can't tell if it should be piano or guitar. It's a ballad right now, talking about having a crush on this girl who seems out of reach."

I chew on my pen cap and close my eyes when the ideas clash into each other once again in my head, bouncing off the walls of my skull and creating a mind bursting headache.

"Well it sounds pretty good so far," Kat smiles at me sweetly and I give one back until my phone buzzes. Snapping my head over to it, I stare down and see a message from Alison.

I grab the device and open it,

From Alison: We got a date. December 29. 7 AM sharp. Remember what we talked about. We will get through this, we can win.

-Alison

Closing my eyes, I breathe out a long stream of air and place the phone down, cupping my hands over my mouth and nose. I see the girls stealing glances at my phone and then looking to me.

"That's in 5 days."

"I know."

"Do you think you'll win?" Raven asks and Jo scoffs, "Don't be ridiculous, of course she will. They did nothing wrong besides stand up for someone they love."

"Yeah but they did assault him and he did go to the hospital so it's a fair thing to be worried about–" "Raven! You aren't helping!"

"I'm just trying to be realistic! She's going on trial for attempted murder charges. That's not something a judge and jury look at lightly."

"It wasn't attempted murder! Y/N was defending Scarlett–" "Yeah but–" "GUYS!" I shout, voice echoing in the studio.

Jo and Raven stop and look to me while I wipe my hands down my face and stand up, slapping on a faux smile.

"I really appreciate you guys coming here but if you're going to be here can we please just focus on the music? I don't want to think about Colin or his bullshit lawsuit. For the record Raven, I didn't try to kill him. I made a mistake. I'm not a violent person, you should know that.I fucked up but I would do it all over again if it meant keeping him away from Scarlett. He hurt her and hurt her daughter. That is not something I could ever be okay with. I couldn't sit back and watch. You know my past, I've told you some of it. So you should know that I don't take that shit in lightly."
