It was all of a sudden.

Winter didn't even get a grasp of the situation as she stared at her best friend, Giselle, in disbelief.

"Y/N didn't come to school today also?"

It had been one week or more than that, but Y/N hadn't come to school ever since. One day they both were on the school's rooftop, talking and laughing casually and the other day, Y/N disappeared out of thin air, like she was not there in the first place.

Winter couldn't help but groan out loud at that. It was true that Winter wanted her to come so that she could cheat for the Science test today, but most importantly, she missed the girl like a crazy freak.

Winter couldn't sleep properly without hearing from Y/N and these days, Y/N had decided to cut on the internet too.

This was bad, Winter thought. Real bad.

She didn't even remember when was the last time she felt like smiling. These days she has been the grumpiest she could be. Cursing every single person who came in her way. It was a disaster without Y/N.

Picking up her bag, Winter walked out of the class not before telling Giselle, "I'm skipping. Tell the teacher I was sick."

She walked out of the school and towards her car. Revving up the engine, Winter was all but angry.

The frustration leading up to this day only ignited her fire. She wanted to see Y/N now. She had to see Y/N now.

A sudden thought emerged in her mind as she realized how far she had come. A few months back, she wouldn't even spare a glance at Y/N and now she couldn't help but think about Y/N.

All because of you, Winter thought and stifled a laugh while her grip on the steering wheel became firm.

Taking a sharp turn at the next red light, Winter was standing in front of Y/N's house. Her hands rested on her waist as she sighed out loud.

"Here goes nothing, "she said as she stepped onto the stairs and pressed the doorbell.

After a few moments, the door flew open, and there stood Y/N with a bagel in her hand. For a few seconds, no one said anything. Just stared at each other, but then out of the blue, Y/N gasped out loud with eyes wide and Winter realized that her heart was racing a hundred miles a minute.

"W-Winter! What are you doing here?" Y/N asked, her voice high-pitched with shock.

Winter walked ahead and stepped inside the house as she whistled while looking around the interior.

"You got a great place, L/N, "she exclaimed as she took a bite of the bagel that Y/N was eating.

Y/N eyes flickered down at Winter's lips and then up at her eyes as she saw them twinkling. A blush crept up her neck as she turned her head to the side, avoiding eye contact.

"Did you skip school?" she asked as she followed Winter around her own house and saw her sitting on her couch.

"I called in sick. Why? Does it bother you?" Winter questioned as she blew on her nails.

Y/N kept her bagel away as she sat down next to Winter, keeping a friendly space in between, and said, "But, today is the Science test! You'd fail if you don't go."

Winter turned her head to look at her and tilted her head asking, "Aren't you going to fail too? You were staying at home all week though, you have already failed many times."

Y/N let out a low groan as she shook her head and said, "This is not about me. This is about you, Winter."

"It won't hurt to fail a test, will it?" Winter asked as she leaned closer to Y/N, face just an inch difference.
