This was something you couldn't imagine even if you wanted to. To have your unrequited love come true?

Psh. Please.

For many, that was a load of bullshit. However, it happened-and the way it happened was nothing less than a fantasy, at least to me.

What a day it was. It was just another day of college. I ran late for my morning class and barely managed to get in before the teacher arrived. As I slid into my seat, I huffed a sigh of relief.

However, a sudden presence beside me murmured in my ear, scaring me so much that I almost jumped away. I immediately snapped my neck to the side and saw my best friend, Jennie, smiling with a confused look.

"What?" she asked softly, her eyebrows furrowed in the cutest way as she smiled with her pearly whites.

I then remembered her presence throughout my life as I nodded in silent recognition and replied, "Uh, nothing. Just out of it. Gimme a sec."

Jennie nodded as her hand tapped my thigh under the table and said, "You look like it, too. Fix your hair."

I did as she said, but I missed that one strand that seemed to bother Jennie. As if naturally, she leaned in and tucked the hair strand behind my ear. I had to look away as I could feel myself blushing.

I was about to look at her when I felt Jennie's hand staying there for a moment longer than it should have, but she pulled away before I could question her lingering touch.

Jennie cleared her throat, gesturing that the teacher was asking for the students' attention, and I immediately looked straight ahead as I took notes on the important things the teacher was saying. But half the things were slipping out of my mind as my focus stayed on Jennie's earlier action.

It was not the first time something like that had happened. I had lingered upon the thought that Jennie was also interested in girls-or at least, me.

But something about her nonchalant behavior after those moments confused me even more.

Maybe it was just a friendly gesture? Perhaps she didn't mean it like that? Maybe I'm reading too much into it?

These questions bugged my mind, and eventually, I had to drop the thought of Jennie ever being queer.

A sudden nudge on my shoulder made me glance to my side, and I saw Jennie beckoning me closer.

How could I refuse? But my beating heart showed no sign of slowing down, and I begged God that Jennie wouldn't hear it.

She cupped her hand around my ear and whispered in her oh-so-husky voice, "What took you so long today?"

A shiver went down my spine as I clutched my pen tighter. Her breath against my ear and neck was just killing me here. My breath hitched in my throat. I turned to look at her and whispered back, "I-I slept late last night."

Jennie questioned the reason for my action, and I blushed even more because I had a dream with her in it. After that, I couldn't sleep anymore.

It was intense. I could still feel warm at the thought of the dream again.

I smiled lopsidedly and whispered, "I had a... weird dream."

Jennie pouted with concern and said, "That's sad. Looks like you need rest tonight..."

My senses perked up at that. Her words were suggestive. I raised a dubious eyebrow and asked, "What is it, Jennie?"

Jennie smirked as her eyes sparkled with mischief. God, that girl would be my death.
