School came once again and this time Adrien was sort of sick. So Marinette was stuck going to school by herself. As usual she went through the same rumors at school about her beating up Lila or that she forced Adrien to date her. During lunch life was no better. Mari had to eat her lunch in the bathroom stalls because no one would let her sit with them.

She heard a door open and three girls walked in. "Oh my God," Alya laughed. "Really?"

"Yeah, Mari is so annoying. You know she tries too hard for two things." Lila snickered.

"Grades and Adrien." Said Sabrina, "it's annoying that she thinks she is better than us."

"Exactly, you know...I heard that her mother struck rich. Probably something to do with the Agrestes." Alya walked out of the bathroom, with the girls following her laughing.

There sat Marinette crying silently, wiping away her tears. Suddenly she got a call from no other than Sabine Cheng. "Hello?"

"Hello Marinette. Where are you?"

"Why? Why do you care now that you want to search for me?"

"Listen, I didn't get kicked out of the house later breaking up with that man because he cheated on me. Since my brother, Hui Cheng passed on his business to me. I have struck rich while your father has been rotting away in a corner. Since you are my daughter and since I filed a lawsuit. You are my daughter and he has no visitation rights whatsoever. Now, where are you?"

"At school."

"Okay, where are you staying at? I heard that Tom kicked you out."

"A club...Adrien's club."

"What?! No, no, no! Not a Cheng staying at a club even with that man! Do you at least have a decent room?"

"I mean. I bunk in with Adrien."

"I bet you that you two are dating too!"

"Yes, we are."

"Well, at least you are not capable of making children. But I got sixteen different apartments across Asia and one in Paris. You are staying in the apartment in Paris because you are still going to attend this school. I also got a call from them and ever since they found out that I was the Sabine Cheng. They made the school get school uniforms so they can be one of the top schools in France. That's the least we both can do."

"Yes mother. Are you going to live with me?"

"No, I have business to attend and I am on the top three business associations in Asia. Just get passing grades because the Cheng family cannot be linked to a poor grading student. Anyways, you have to be able to take over the family business. When you get out of school get your stuff and go to the school. Then I will be there at exactly four pm to give you the keys to the five hundred k apartment." Sabine hung up.

Marinette put her phone in her pocket, looking down in a mixture of a feeling that she wanted to disappear but she just wanted to be found. When she came out of the bathroom she saw that they were handing out school uniforms. Sighing, she walked over to the table to get the uniforms.

"Name?" Said the woman.

"Marinette Cheng."

The woman looked up at her in surprise. "Wait? The daughter of Sabine Cheng?"

"Yes, I need my uniform and Adrien Agreste's uniform. He's not here today."

"Right away!" The woman walked over to a box, pulling out a uniform wrapped in plastic and then another uniform also wrapped in plastic. She walked over to her handing them to her. "Here you go."

"Thanks." Mari mumbled walking away. Her eyes caught sight of Lila and Alya whispering to one another looking at her. "If you want to say it to me. Just say it to me, okay?"

"No. I wouldn't want to get sued." Lila's eyes showed fear and so did Alya's eyes.

Mari just shrugged. "Just call me Mari, I don't care."

After school Mari trudged to the club. She opened the door, walking inside seeing that Adrien was fine. "So you just skipped out and told me that you had a fever?" She chuckled.

"Maybe. I just didn't feel like going."

"Here," she threw him his uniform. "New crap here and there. We have to wear uniforms."

"What, why?"

"Well, ever since my mom got famous with the passed on Cheng family business and when the school found out that I was her daughter. The school wanted to be well known so they made the school more professional since I was going there."

"So, she's rich?"

"Listen, people in Asia with big tycoons and businesses aren't just rich. They're crazy China rich."

"You're getting big into business or something?"

"Maybe." She walked over to pack her stuff, stuffing all her clothes and uniform in her suitcase.

He looked at her and got to his feet instantly. He walked over to her blurting out: "Hey what are you doing?"

"I'm going."

"What do you mean you're going?"

She spun around to face him. "Listen, my mother has an apartment for me here and she wants me to stay there. She is meeting me at the school at four so I'm leaving this place. It pains me as much as it pains you. I have to do this."

"No, you don't have to do it!"

"Are you Asian? Are you Chinese? Is your family traditionally set in a Chinese traditional way? Listen, when a rich Chinese business has been going for at least a life time back in the eighteen hundreds. It's a family business. The Chengs will keep on extending this for a lifetime and it's the way it has always worked. But we get to see each other and she won't be living with me. Just don't go destroying the city, okay?"

"It has already left me."

"The..."

"Yeah, the Akuma. Somehow nothing has gone back to the way it was, but now since you have shown me something. I can see why it's like this now."

"So, do you understand?"

"Yeah. I understand."

"Listen, I'll be fine, okay? I'm a fighter."

"You'll always need help but when you get scared when the light goes out. I'll be there."

"Thanks, it really means a lot to me that you understand."

He kissed her on the head walking away, exiting the room. Leaving her packing her stuff.
