A few weeks passed and college was closing in. Mari started to pack up the apartment since they had to transfer the stuff to Taiwan on graduation day. On top of graduation day everyone who worked for Daiyu Xiong were invited to her and Eric's wedding. Everyone in class C7 were invited since their parents worked for her which was no surprising.
The night before the big day, Mari was cleaning out her closet finding old things given to her. She found Hao's two old basketball jerseys that she kept.
It's so dusty back here. I cannot believe I lived like this.
She reached all the way to the back and found the box that Tang and Felicity have her a long time ago when her mother passed on. She took the box in her hands and looked at it hard.
I cannot believe I forgot about this. I guess Adrien is right about my memory. I should just open it, but no I can't. I HAVE TOO. THE MORE I WAIT LONGER THE MORE I STRESS OUT MORE! I SHOULD JUST GET IT DONE EARLY! KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
Without thinking she ripped the box open and found an old mahjong set. The mahjong set had fine wood and still in good shape. She remembered back when she used to play which brought back good memories. She found all of Kevin Kwan's books stacked up in order and in the correct order. Her mother loved Kwan's book, Sex and Vanity. Her favorite series was Crazy Rich Asians though. Underneath all of the Kevin Kwan books she found the book The Joy Luck Club.
THAT'S WHERE THAT BOOK WENT.
She opened it up skimming through the pages. In the box there was a large journal and when she opened the journal her mother had written a lot of stuff in it. It dated back to when she was in college. One page caught her attention and it was something that Chaoxiang told her which she thought wasn't true, but it proved her wrong...
-SABINE'S POV-
We finally did it! We graduated from college and my friends and I are heading to a bar. Now that we were free independent women on our own and after many years of school we deserved a drink. We started off slow and Tang was being Tang. Felicity was rather hyped and wanted to order fifteen more tequilas. Tang was usually the responsible one, but this time she wasn't holding back. I myself couldn't hold back either. Before any of us knew it we both were on the stage singing and it is safe to say we were not sober.
"It's more than a feeling!" I yelled into the microphone.
Tang and Felicity sang in the background. "More than a feeling!"
"When I hear that old song they used to play!"
"More than a feeling!"
"I begin dreaming!"
"More than a feeling!"
"HEY, HEY! CHANGE THE SONG! WE'VE BEEN HEARING THIS FOR THE PAST TWO HOURS!" Yelled a man in the audience.
"FINE!" Felicity screamed at him.
"OKAY GIRLS HIT IT!" Tang changed the song and then we started. "START AFTER ME, SUPER TROUPER..."
"BEAM ARE GONNA BLIND ME, BUT I WON[T FEEL BLUE. LIKE I ALWAYS DO. CAUSE SOMEWHERE IN THE CROWD THERE'S YOU." We all sang in unison as we all somehow went from low to high.
We were just Donna and the Dynamos in Mamma Mia. We were just in the wrong place because it was actually set in Greece. I played the roll as Donna, Tang played the roll as Tanya and Felicity played the roll as Rosie.
