When Adrien and Mari got in the apartment she slowly pushed him away, not looking at him to show him how weak she really was. "I...I have to...go to the b-bathroom...it's fine-e just don't worry...okay-y?"

He could tell that she a minor mental breakdown and that she was trying to hide her other side from him that he never saw before. She started to walk away but he grabbed her by the wrist pulling her into him. "Tell me. What's happening with you?"

"I..." She knew that he noticed that she was hurting and she really was. Slowly gathered her last bits of courage. "I'm just trying to be like someone who I am not. Someone who I am not. Truth is, I try being her. I try being like her so I won't lose her like how I lost my father. I'm just copying her, because I'm not like her. I lied, I'm not like her at all."

Watching her do her best to hide her loneliness...seeing her torture herself like that. It was so foolish and it tugged at my heart.

"I'm sure your mom knew all that. But it still helped her. It did."

"I'm sorry for suddenly acting so discouraged."

"It's fine. Say whatever you need, it's fine. I won't be disappointed in you."

Her eyes widened and tears streamed from her eyes. She let out a cry, rushing towards him, embracing him into a hug.

Meanwhile, Vic was at her father's place talking about what happened. "Dad it was bad. She struck me across the face and I didn't know what to do. I don't even know who she is anymore or is it just me?"

"Listen Vic. Maybe we should talk about this tomorrow because you had a long day and it's best for you to rest right now, okay?" Fred suggested, "I can get you a sushi plate and a boba just for you right now to get your mind off this stuff. Just do nothing this whole evening."

"Thanks Dad." She trudged upstairs to her room when she stayed the night over and turned on the TV going to Viki Rakuten. She chose to watch a Chinese drama this time, since she was still recovering from The Flower of Evil. She decided to watch You are my Glory. Scrolling through her Instagram as usual seeing a video that was on everything. "What? Sabine Cheng?"

She clicked on the video seeing that the event happened in Paris on the same day with the feud between Mari and Sabine Cheng about school and life. Then the video went on when Mari stormed away but the paparazzi surrounded her. Only making her look like she was going to pass out. Luckily Adrien jumped in and got her out if the crowd while the video ended. Quickly she went on her contacts calling Mari.

"Hello, Mari?" Vic asked.

"Yeah Vic?" Her voice was hoarse and shaky on the other end.

"I saw the video and are you okay? Lucky enough that Adrien jumped in there before you could hit the ground."

"Yeah, I sort of had a mental breakdown. Enough about me. How are you doing?"

"Oh me? Nothing much just that my mom struck me across the face and now I am at my dad's place."

"What? She hit you?"

"Yeah, after when I said that I wanted to move to China with my dada and that I wanted to drop out."

"Dam, I hope things get better."

"Yeah, is Adrien with you?"

"No, he had to go because he had to attend something for his father. Someone special came over to talk about stuff. Like they have a huge dinner and everything but when it ends, he told me that he'll come back."

"I bet you the Agrestes are trying to win back their fame."

"I guess."

"So...I guess we both have mommy issues. Wanna go out and get a sushi plate and boba?"

"Yeah but we need to stay low."

"Don't worry I have a plan. I'll come to your place just keep an eye out for a dark silver Audi R8 Spyder from 2018. Make sure to wear a black hoodie to keep low and change the hairstyle because the paparazzi will have you posted before your mom can land in a different country." She hung up leaving her room, slipping on a black, The Boyz hoodie. On the back it said Hyunjae 24 in large white printing. After grabbing the keys to the car and turning on music she was off going to pick up Mari.

When she arrived she saw that Mari was wearing a black hoodie that showed an anime eye and short black running shorts as she got in the car. "Bruh, this car...is literally fire."

"Yeah I'm just happy enough that we both look tall because if we get caught it's all over just stay low." She winked driving off.

"Holy crap! You listen to VaVa?"

"Yeah she hits."

"Exactly, she is really good. So where are we going to go?"

"I know this place that has great takeout sushi and also serves boba. Then we can drive to an abandoned lot that I go to when I vent."

Honestly, getting to hang out with someone who had the same problems as she did felt good. It made Vic feel good that she wasn't alone. As usual they talked about love life and talking about the previous boyfriends they had. They made it to the lot, seeing the sunset that you would only see if you searched up: Aesthetic sunset.

"You know, you are very fun to hang out with." Mari smiled.

"Really? Thanks, you are too. So can you fill me in a little more on what happened?"

"Oh yeah...that. Well, my mom crashed the thing saying how I am such a disappointment then I said that I don't want to be a Cheng anymore. Luckily she didn't send me off to boarding school."

"That's good. It just annoys me how me and my mom can't have a normal conversation without bringing up my schoolwork. I doubt she cares at all. Since she slapped me...I guess she doesn't want me there anymore so I gave her what she wanted."

"Hey, listen. She cares for you very much and I know it. I always noticed there was some sort of link between the two of you and I have seen the way she looks at you. She just wants the best for you and maybe she just wants you to do good in life. Believe me, she really does. Slapping you wasn't her. Get to know her deeper down and see the troubles she faces and then you'll see someone who is different than what you expect."

"I'm scared. I don't know what I should do? I love her but I don't know if she looks at me like a disappointment! I shouldn't have said that...I...I...Mari what should I do? I'm just so lonely." Before Vic knew it she broke down falling into her arms.

"Hey, calm down...please. I get it, okay? At least you have your mom, someone who truly cares for you. My mom really doesn't care at all. But it isn't about me. Just know I am here."

"Thanks Marinette." She choked out pulling her closer to her. "I'm sorry if I..."

"No, no it's fine. I'll go back to that name now."

"Don't you get that feeling when you can't sleep and the only way for you to get to sleep is just to cry yourself to sleep. All what you just want is someone to pull you out and tell you, you are enough?"

Marinette let out a tear fall from her face knowing that, that was exactly true. "I always get that feeling. Since...I...I actually don't know. Though just try, try to yourself and try to look for the good in your mother."

"I hope you do the same."

"I can't. I already lost myself. Just know that she's not disappointed in you. She's a bittersweet symphony. Her ego just got the best of her and she might've done some things that she shouldn't have done but no matter what she will always love you."
