Ever since the game things have been different in school. Class C7 was popular after the great slam dunk at the end of the game. Mostly their fame was based off Marinette who screamed: "YOU BETTER WIN THIS OR ELSE I WILL SPANK YOU HAO AND ADRIEN!"
Yet that quote still haunted her. During gym she usually watched Hao play basketball, training for next game. The same thing occurred for three months straight. One day he threw the ball to her. "Here, I think you should shoot it manager." He smiled.
"M-me?" She never really tried to shoot a basket, nor did she tend too.
"Yeah, it's fine if you screw up. I mean I screwed up many of times in front of you."
"Okay then, just don't laugh." She walked to the hoop, throwing the ball towards the hoop. Though she missed it and it hit the wall. "DON'T LAUGH."
"I'm not, I'm not." He chuckled softly. He picked up the ball, handing it to her. He walked behind her, taking her arms to aim up. "Flick your wrist with all your might."
She did what she was told and this time the ball hit the rim of the hoop, bouncing back. "It's better that time." He said.
She turned her head to look at him and their faces met. They both blushed red, both were mesmerized by each others' eyes. Slowly their mouths inched to meet each other until Adrien threw a ball at Hao's back. Quickly is spun to face him, lashing out. "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR?!"
"I saw a fly on your back."
"YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME!"
"Never mind the fly is gone. See yah."
A week pasted and it was five in the afternoon. Marinette was working in the locker room, getting things prepared for future games. Luckily she had one source of company and it was Adrien. They were really close friends despite their break up a few months ago.
"What are you going to do for Chinese New Year?" He asked, leaning down besides her.
"That's like in two months." She raised her eyebrow writing something down on a sheet of paper.
"What's that for?"
"Signing a thing for a new jersey for Hao."
He rolled over on his back, stretching out his arms. "You have something for him?"
"Maybe, maybe not. Short answer."
"Specify."
"I don't know. I'm taking a break from love right now since I am manager and I still need to excel in school. Anyways, prom is about come up. You gonna take Kagami?"
"I don't know. She gets annoying and clingy. Very overprotective of me. Extremely annoying when she becomes manager of the sophomore basketball team and main manager over class B7. Sucks more that she doesn't help you."
"No, no it's fine. Being manager does get my mind off things."
"I'm thinking of breaking up with her sometime around Chinese New Year."
That got her attention making her look at him. "What?"
"Yeah, she's not my type. Possibly after the break up I was getting desperate so I dated her. Though I do have my eye on another girl though if things don't work out."
Oh God it's me.
He looked at her deeply. "I know you are thinking that the girl is you who I am after. To make you less anxious it's not you."
"Yeah, yeah I knew that." She looked down, knowing that she got ahead of herself.
Kagami opened the door with her bag. "Come on kitty it's time to go."
K-kitty?!
Adrien got up slinging his bag over his shoulder walking out with Kagami. When the door shut Mari was in a daze.
He said he won't let no one call him that, but me! If he ends his relationship with her, I am not even on his suggestions! I AM SOOO PISSED RIGHT NOW! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
At this moment she was in tears trying to fill in all in until someone opened the door. "Oi, Mari-san." It was Hao.
She wiped away her tears, turning to face him. "Hey Hao. What are you doing here?"
"Oh I came her to—like are you okay?"
"Yep...never been better. I know Adrien has moved on to Kagami, but wants to break up with her. Though he has another woman which isn't me, which is great, but I don't love him, but I love him. He doesn't want me, I want him, but I don't know what I want."
Oh crap...I just vented...
"So you still love Adrien?"
"I don't know. One part of me let go, but the other part still hasn't let go."
He sighed, sitting down next to her on the floor. "Mixed emotions I take it?"
She nodded her head looking down at the floor. His eye caught sight of the paper she was filling out for his new jersey. "The reason why I stayed over after school was to give you something."
She felt something get rested over her and when she touched the fabric she saw that it was his old jersey. "H-hao...you don't have too."
"No, no take it. I insist." He blushed. "Also, I think it would give us luck if you have it. Since you are so dear to our team."
"Thank you Hao. I really appreciate you, you're always here to make things better. Just promise me that you won't be someone, who you are not."
"I won't and I hope that you don't do the same."
