As the whole school knew. Exams were coming up and things changed around the school. The exam was coming in three months and Mari was studying all day and all night. Of course her mom came home time and time again.

"Hey Mari!" Nana exclaimed on the other end of the phone. "Wanna hang with the girls to go to the Asian market?"

"Er, no thanks I'm good." Mari replied.

"Girl, you have been cooped up inside that room of yours for a good amount of time. How about you take a break?"

A break? No times for breaks when she could be at the risk for losing her boyfriend, and even her closest friends. "No I have to do this because...I have to do this."

"Okay then, if you wanna stop by you can because we'll be at the Asian market. See yah then."

"See yah." She hung up, placing her phone down on her desk. Looking at the time she saw that it was four PM. So she thought that she might join them around five if possible.

She spent one hour of revising each subject that she was going to be tested on and went back to old tests or quizzes that took. She looked at the time getting out of her room going to go hang out with her friends for a little 'me' time. Thankfully enough for her no paparazzis crowded her because the whole court case incident was now brushed over.

Meanwhile, Van, Zhao, Ben and Feng were all at a chilling at a restaurant to get a hamburger. When they walked in Feng whispered to his friends. "Guys, guys look. It's Ms. Lin Chong."

There they saw Lin Chong working at the restaurant, wiping off a table. "No way is that really her?" Laughed Ben.

"She just disappeared from the teaching world for this crummy job?" Van jeered. "Maybe she just likes fried chicken."

They all laughed. "That explains everything. That explains why Vic is always so depressed I mean how couldn't her own mother look at it?" Zhao scoffed.

"She can't because she has other things to do which is to give out homework that we could never finish. Come on guys let's go." Feng walked away to a table with his friends following him. Little did they know that Lin Chong was hearing the whole thing that brought tears and guilt.

Quickly she started to walk away until she bumped into her boss, Samuel Baxter. "Lin Chong is everything okay?" Samuel asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine I just need to have some alone time for a second." She turned away hiding her tears, but he grabbed her by the wrist with worried eyes.

"Are you sure? Were those kids bothering you?"

"They were my old students."

"Oh, how about you take the day off today. Okay?"

"Thank you." He let go of her wrist as she walked away in a hurry.

That night when she arrived home she saw Vic working on her schoolwork on the kitchen counter. "Oh, you're home. How's work?"

"Work?"

"Yeah, didn't you mention something about teaching a new school?" She looked up at her mom as if she were insane.

"Oh yeah. The students love me." She spoke quickly. "How's school?"

"School's okay...same as yesterday and the day before. And the day before that. Yeah, it's pretty much the same." She rolled her eyes looking down at her history study guide.

"Oh speaking of school," Lin Chong went to go get a stack of papers bringing them back. She set them down in front of Vic. "Your exams are around the corner and it's crucial for you to remain focus and consistent in your school work."
