Senior year arrived and it was almost an end of an era. After senior year of college they all were going to go off on their own paths. It was December no time soon and Mari decided to break up with one thing.
"Aw, I'm going to miss seeing you in that maid outfit." Adrien said.
"Yeah. Well, it's an end of an era. I have to start looking for real jobs even though I have other jobs that my mother wants me to look after." She sighed while she started to walk to gym.
"We're not even out of college."
"I know, but it's good to look."
"You're getting so serious."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Yeah. You are spending more time with business than me."
"I will spend more time with you, okay?"
"I find that true, but you'll act all tense."
"I am not tense."
"Wanna go to the bar tonight?"
"No."
"It's a Friday."
"Still."
"God, you act like a mom."
That word triggered her. "I DO NOT ACT LIKE A MOTHER. FINE. I WILL TO GO BAR. HAPPY?"
"Meet me at the bar at eight tonight."
"Eight?"
"Got a problem with that?"
"NO. NO, I DON'T."
He looked looked at her and hit her in the head lightly. "Short." Then he walked off.
What the heck...? It's easy for him to say that I am "short"because he's a literally a human giant.
Later, classes ended and Mari was at her apartment getting ready. Their last encounter kind of left her speechless mostly due to his attitude. He wasn't much affectionate or clingy as he was, but rather harsh and judgmental. She decided just to go to the bar just to try to ask him what the matter was.
When she arrived she saw that he was standing outside on his phone. "Oh. Hey." He looked up.
"Hey." She replied shyly.
"Let's go in. It's cold out here and I hate it."
A few minutes later they had drinks and they sat up at the bar. "So, how's things going for you?" It was already going bad.
He looked at her with no expression on his face as usual. "Good, I guess."
Complete silence. "Listen, I don't know what to say here and stuff. I don't know why you invited me here or what's up with you. I know the first question I asked you was cringe. I find it stupid that I can't even talk to my own boyfriend even though we have been together for many years—"
"I'm dropping out of college."
"What? Why? I-I thought you were going to join basketball there...and..."
"I just don't see what the point is of college anymore."
"B-but it's the last year."
"I know that. I already know everything I know."
"Well, at least you are sure. Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I am."
"Okay then, your life."
