The day came and Mari had finally done it. She had graduated college. After graduation they all went straight to Singapore where the wedding was being held. They went to the church that was seen in Crazy Rich Asians.
"Oh my God. This reminds me so much of the wedding scene!" Squealed Deb.
"Eh, not really because there are no plants." Nana replied bluntly.
"Same church though."
"True. I think the reception is being held at the Tanjong beach."
The wedding began and there walked out Daiyu in a white dress getting ready to go get married to Eric. When they kissed in the end everyone started to clap.
"Show offs." Adrien mumbled.
"DON'T BE RUDE!" Mari snapped at him.
"Hey, imagine what our wedding will be like?"
"Why think about that now?"
"You just graduated."
"That doesn't mean I want to get married just yet."
"Fine, where do you want to go so I can marry you?"
"...really?"
"DID YOU SEE THAT KISS?!" Exclaimed Nana clinging to Mari's arm kind of crying.
"SHE'S SO LUCKY!" Nick cried.
"TIME FOR THE RECEPTION PARY!" Deb started to get high off nothing.
"LET'S GO TO THE CAR!" Vic and the other girls started to take Mari off to the car leaving Adrien standing there alone.
"So, is that yes?!" He called out towards her.
They all went to Tanjong beach for the reception party. Music played and everyone was having their times of their lives. Evening came and the sunset was setting. "Thanks for coming!" Eric walked over to Mari.
"No problem. It's really nice yah know."
"Yeah, how are you and Adrien doing?"
"Good. Today we are staying in Singapore for a little longer and then we are going to live in Taiwan."
"That's nice. Can't wait to go to your wedding."
"WHAT?! T-THAT IS A LONG TIME OFF."
"Not that long, you just graduated. I gotta go get some photos with Daiyu now. See yah." He walked away.
"See yah..."
She didn't see Adrien for most of the time, but when she did she found him on his phone while a bunch of girls surrounded him.
Some things...you just cannot change.
She walked over to the class C7 who were all laughing and having fun. "Hey, what are you guys doing?" She asked.
"Looking through our phones trying to find all memories of us." Ying said.
"That was Nicky's idea." Sighed Vic.
"HEY! IT'S GONNA BE WORTH IT!" Nicky exclaimed.
"Bet."
"Oh! Hey, hey guys look! The old group chat I made when we first met Mari!" She showed them the group chat.
"Are we all still in?" Asked Wang.'
"YEAH!"
"No wonder why my phone is getting crowded. Imma leave that group chat."
"Same." Zhao sighed.
"Hey, hey. Why?! Why do you want to leave it?!"
"It's dead." Said Fen bluntly.
"W-why leave it?!"
"We're not really class C7 anymore. None of us are really part of it." Hao spoke.
Nicky froze and started to walk away quickly. The rest of class C7 followed her. "Hey, bring the tequila. She might need this." Mei said to Nana.
"Nick, where are you going?" Asked Wang.
"No, I can't do this! I cannot let class C7 become nothing! I tried to hold back all my emotions so you guys won't think I am weird and that I am okay with this! But the thing is...I am not! There is a reason why we are in this group chat is because we are in this together! The creator of group chats get it because friends are tied together no matter what! We can't all be off using our minutes or storage all by ourselves! The minutes and storage are all connected! They are intertwined because that's the way it's supposed to be! People who created group chats gets it!"
"Nicky—"
"No! And you have to appreciate the minutes and storage before they run out because this is it! This is it, it's all over! The fifteen of us are never gonna be together like this again! It's an end of an era...and it's never gonna be the same again..."
"That's the way it's supposed to be." Wang walked over to her and hugged her while the rest joined in.
"Just p-promise me that n-no matter what happens or—or where you guys end up, we'll always stay on the same group chat."
In the hug little comments were made like:
"Always."
"We will."
"We promise."
Then the group walked off, arm around each other just like how the story of class C7 started.
Moments passed on and evening turned into night. Mari was watching the tide go in and out as she stood on the beach. Hao walked to her side nervously. "Hey, Mari. I have to go now. I have to be at one of my job sites in New York so I have to go."
"Oh okay. See yah then."
"But before I go, I am sorry."
"For what?"
"The way I ignored you in college ever since the Japan trip in junior year of high school."
"No, no it's fine—"
"You don't know the whole reasoning on why I did it. The reason why I did it was because I promised myself that I won't love you anymore and I had to move on. In doing so I ignored you and pushed you away. But now, I nhave learned to accept my defeat and in which means, I love you. I always loved you. Nothing will ever change that. I won't force you or bug you about."
"But Hao. It's not your fault. I never took you seriously and I am the one to blame."
"Don't be sorry. A man has to be what he is, Mari. Can't break the mold. I tried it, and it didn't work for me. There's no living with a killing. There's no turning back from one. Right or wrong, it's a brand...and a brand sticks. There's no going back. Tell Adrien I am sorry."
"I think he knows."
"I hope so."
"Will I never see you again?"
"Never is a long time, why?"
"W-well, I always did think about...you as a close friend. Almost like a b-brother to me."
"R-really? B-but I'm kind of happy. It's sad, but I am also happy that I made it to where I am now. You freely taught me what I wanted. Thank you." He smiled at her with a few tears forming in his eyes.
She slowly smiled at him. "No, thank you Hao."
He held out his hand towards her as she took it and shook it. "Well, I have to head off now. See yah around." He started to walk off.
"I hope to see you too..." She whispered softly to him.
