-AUTHOR'S P.O.V.

"There's nothing more I can't suffer, love" he said, clenching his jaw as guilt tried to rush through his veins but he stopped it before it could get inside his head. Glancing at Jasmine once, he left the room.

Jasmine stared at Max's lifeless body, lying on the ground. Her heart refused to believe he was gone, just like that. Now, he wouldn't surprise her from back, make silly jokes, the warm sunshine was lying in dust and he's not coming back. She collapsed near his body, caressing his bruised face tenderly like it actually hurt him anymore. "Sleep well" she smiled through her tears as Max sleeped peacefully. Forever.

Outside the cell, Alfredo couldn't help but glance at the girl who was devastated. Gulping down the painful lump forming his throat, he turned to go back to his room when one of the guard stopped him.

"Sir... shall we get rid of the dead body?" He asked, glancing at the Max once.

When the phrase 'dead body" reached his ears, Jasmine's crying face flashed in his mind. Her loud cry, pleading, screaming echoed in his head. "Let her... be with him for a while" He blurted out, not giving a thought that this one mere sentence was awakening the weak and merciful side of his.

He sprinted to his room as he felt suffocated for some reasons. Locking the door shut behind him, he immediately threw away his coat and tie, and unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt. He took a deep breath, calming his heightened feelings down.

"FUCK!" He turned the whole table upside down in anger.

"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK" He cursed loudly kicking the chair just beside the table. Slumping down on the bed, he held his head in his palm.

"My bloody anger!" He cursed under his breath, knowing the fact that killing Max was a mistake. He was the leverage to find Sebastian and eventually getting to Azrael, and now with Max gone. He's back to nothing.

Letting out a frustrated groan, he yanked out his phone, dialing Aaron's number. "Answer the goddamn call" he spat impatiently when no one answered.

-Meanwhile at Aaron's house

He came home late at night, after most probably drinking his sorrows away. The whole day went bizarre for Bella. After the fight she had with Aaron, she couldn't help but feel guilty about all the thing she said since she got here. And, after giving it a lot of thought, she came to a conclusion that she should apologize. She herself decided to trust him one last time so why don't do it right? Right.

She made her way to his room. Knocking on the door, she waited for him to open but he didn't. Hesitantly, she turned the door knob open, peeking inside. The noise of the shower running came from the bathroom, she sighed disappointed. "He's taking a shower now" She shrugged, turning to leave when a loud phone ring interrupted her way out.

Slowly she walked to the phone kept on the bed and glanced at the caller Id, "Alfredo?" She mumbled when the phone stopped ringing. Choosing not to ponder over it, she was about to leave when the phone started ringing again.

She had a hard time thinking whether to pick up the call or not. It could be an emergency, She thought to herself and hesitantly picked up the phone, sliding her thumb over the green icon.

The first thing she heard was a deep sigh of someone and before she could say anything, Alfredo spoke, "I messed up.." his voice, defeated.

She could've told him that it wasn't Aaron but she didn't. Her silence gave a green signal for him to continue, and the next sentence made the ground slip away from beneath her feet, "I killed him... I killed Max Scott" thud the phone slipped from her hand, falling on the ground. "Hello? Hell-" his loud voice came through the line but she couldn't hear anything more.
