Sitting so close to Shinichi for so long was both nice and not so nice. It was nice because the sleuth was nice and warm, but not so nice because it made him crave the other's blood. The chocolate milk was great and all, but Kaito still couldn't help himself from wanting Shinichi's blood.

"That was a great movie"

Kaito snapped himself out of those thoughts and smiled in response to Ran's comment "Yeah, it was just as fun as the first time I watched it" Aoko had dragged him and Saguru over to her house to see it, trying to force a friendship to form between them. They hadn't really bonded that day, but they'd formed a temporary truce for the rest of that day.

"I really liked the villain reveal" Shinichi added, he'd somewhat seen it coming considering the theme of breaking stereotypes, but it had still been interesting, and funny, very funny. The female protagonist had been quick and witty.

"I thought them visiting the nudists was hilarious" Kaito added, because it was. If the characters had been human it would have been a different story, but nude animals were just animals.

"Wait" Ran's eyes went wide "Does that mean that the character with Judy was wearing the equivalent of a naked costume when she was in that play?" The three of them grimaced at the thought "Actually let's not think about it too much"

Shinichi nodded "Agreed" It was a movie meant for kids, trying to look too hard into it would take too much effort.

Kaito swiped up another sandwich, it was still tasty even at room temperature "What should we do now that the movie is over?" It had helped to calm him down, but there was still a bit of rage burning in him.

Ran hummed, thinking "Maybe we can find another movie to watch?" The magician looked tired, though that may just be because of his skin tone. She didn't think going out somewhere would be a good idea. Shinichi generally stayed at home nowadays, and Kaito was still getting used to being around people again. Which was sad, because Ran could totally see Kaito as being a people person.

"Another animated film would be best" Shinichi added. It was a bit harder to be annoyed by wrong information when it was being delivered by an animated character instead of a live actor. Talking animals making mistakes was a lot more understandable.

"Oh" Kaito perked up "I know it's an old movie, but Ice Age is great" He'd started to scroll through the movie options and had spotted it. His favourite character was Scrat, because that squirrel was awesome.

Ice Age? Shinichi had heard of it, but he wasn't sure if he'd actually watched it "Sure" He agreed, not wanting to look silly. Ran's eyes had lit up so she had obviously seen it before.

"Is the second one on there too?" Ran asked.

Kaito blinked, typing in the name "All of them are"

"Let's just watch the first two"

The sleuth's brows furrowed in confusion "Is there something wrong with the other ones?" How could there be? There were a fair amount of movies in the series. Sequels usually only happened if the previous one did well.

Ran's eyes narrowed "You haven't seen the Ice Age before have you?"

Shinichi grimaced "I was busy reading Sherlock Holmes and working on being a detective" He did sort of remember Ran mentioning the movie once now that he thought about it.

Sighing, Ran shook her head in disappointment "Despite being rich, you probably have the least enriched childhood out of the three of us" Her friend's parents were really stupid when it came to childcare, and they still were.

The sleuth's ears reddened "My childhood was great, I got to do whatever I wanted" Which was mainly read.

Ran just sighed "And that is why you spend most of your time inside, alone. Except for when there's a case or I drag you somewhere" When her friend had been Conan, he'd gone out a lot more. If only that habit hadn't left him.

Kaito frowned "I'm sure he got out a fair amount when he was younger and couldn't be left alone during trips" His parents had taken him out on trips all the time, though that was because his father had needed to travel for his shows.

Shinichi nodded "Yeah, I've been to more places than a lot of people our age"

"If you say so" Ran shrugged "We should put the movie on so that we have time to watch them both" She eyed the tray, it was mostly empty. Kaito had been the one to eat the most surprisingly. Was that because it lacked the nutrition he needed so his body made him eat more of it? She turned towards Shinichi "Did you use all of the popcorn bags?"

"No, there should still be a fair amount of popcorn left" He replied. He doubted that Kaito had eaten them all on him. Though... They were crunchy so it was possible.

Ran nodded, getting up "Okay, I'll go pop the popcorn and prepare the butter" She turned towards Kaito "Do you have any toppings that you'd like?"

"Uh" Kaito blinked "Butter is fine, but if you have sour cream and onion popcorn powder, I wouldn't mind some of it" He didn't always have it, but it was nice to spice it up once in a while.

"Okay then, just butter it is, we only have that stupid spicy stuff and cheese powder" Ran left for the kitchen.

Shinichi scooted over so that there was more space between them "So, is Ice Age really that big of a deal?" He asked, curious about what all the fuss was about.

"It's amazing, and the graphics are great for how old it is" Or at least they looked good to him, though maybe that was nostalgia taking. Nostalgia always made things seem better than they actually were. It didn't stop him from enjoying it though.

The sleuth eyed the movie title, noting that the characters seemed to be interesting "I hope I enjoy this one"

Kaito smiled "Don't worry, you will. It's hard to hate the first Ice Age movie"

Me: Poor Shinichi missing out on vital childhood experiences...
