Despite their argument early that morning, Ai had ended up coming over for a few minutes to give Kaito some capsules. Said capsules apparently held dehydrated blood and became similar to blood if one mixed one with water. It wasn't ideal, nor would it ever be something that he'd be able to solely rely on. It would, however, give Kaito some extra time before things become too dire. They could even be ingested in their capsule form, but it wouldn't be ideal.

"Today looks like it's going to be very cloudy, do you want to go out again?" Shinichi inquired, wanting Kaito to get out as much as possible.

Kaito hummed in thought "Sure I guess" He was adjusting to his keener senses, or at least his brain must be filtering out things that were overstimulating to him. That was good, he'd always been more adaptive than most after all.

Surprised by the positive answer, the sleuth smiled "Want to go to Beika park?" He had no reason to go there, but it shouldn't be too populated.

"I've been neglecting Tsuki lately..." He really had been, only snuggling with her occasionally then leaving her to do her own stuff. Except for feeding, watering, and cleaning her living area of course "I bet she'd like to go outside too" A small part of him was curious to know if she was suited to live on her own now or not. He'd been avoiding his beloved dove because he'd been drinking animal blood. Doves were so fragile.

Shinichi nodded "It would be good for her to be able to stretch her wings" The magician didn't clip his companion's wings like some people did. He'd played with Tsuki a bit off and on, the dove was pleasant to be around. Unfortunately the magician hadn't spent as much time with the bird as he'd expected him to. Instead, Tsuki had stayed practically locked up in his parent's old bedroom and bathroom.

Plan made, Kaito headed over to Tsuki's section of the house, guilt coiling in his stomach at how he'd been forcing his beloved dove away from him. It had been the safe thing to do "Hey Tsuki!" Kaito called, immediately a white ball of feathers was in his face. Tsuki settled on his shoulder, cooing and rubbing her cheek against Kaito's own. Kaito laughed "We're going to go outside today" The dove puffed up, flapping her wings excitedly without taking flight.

Tsuki's heartbeat was faster than a human, but it didn't draw him in like Shinichi's did which he greatly appreciated "Let's go and see Kudo-kun together" Tsuki had grown in their short time here and had become a young adult dove while he hadn't been looking. Why did animals have to age so fast? Tsuki was now old enough to go out and find a proper mate for herself.

The sleuth smirked when he spotted the obviously ecstatic dove of the magician's shoulder, Tsuki was nuzzling Kaito as if her life depended on it and Kaito's eyes were alight with fondness "I doubt that Tsuki is a flight risk" He remarked.

Kaito nodded, why did his heart feel so much lighter now? "I highly doubt it as well, and even if she did, she's old enough to be on her own now" His youngest and now only dove had grown up.

Shinichi snickered "She loves you too much" Tsuki was very affectionate, especially when it came to Kaito. Though he'd like to think that the dove had grown at least a little fond of him recently.

The magician's gaze dulled a bit at that "I've already put on a lot of my special sunscreen just in case, so let's go" Animals were supposed to have a keen sense when it came to people. Tsuki still loved him even after he'd been neglecting her. He was still himself, his older doves had avoided that robot that'd tried to replace him, and his bond with Tsuki was stronger than their bond had been with his doves back then. Tsuki hadn't even been laid then.

"Right" Shinichi pushed away the instinctual confusion. Kaito was prone to weird mood changes so it should be fine at the very least.

The two of them headed out with Tsuki in tow. The dove was completely ignoring Shinichi in favour of her favourite person, cooing non-stop as she nuzzled him.

Shinichi eyed the dove "I think Tsuki should be given free reign of the house now, she didn't destroy anything" Not that it would have mattered. It was his parent's stuff that he'd put at risk, not his own stuff. Honestly, he'd expected the bird to have at least one accident in the house, but she hadn't. Well, she hadn't had any that he'd found. For all he knew, there could be some bird poop in an obscure place.

Kaito frowned, absently giving Tsuki a few good scritches which the bird adored "Maybe..."

Blinking, the sleuth studied Kaito "What's wrong?" Something was up, he just didn't know what.

Sighing, Kaito picked Tsuki up and gently cradled her in his arms, the dove settled there happily "Tsuki is all grown up now, I think she should be let go after she's taught how to survive on her own"

Azure narrowed "Tsuki is perfectly happy to be with you, why do you want to get rid of her?" The bird adored Kaito like no other, and it was obvious that Kaito really cared for the dove as well.

Frowning, Kaito shook his head "I don't want to get rid of her, I just think she'd be better off free once she has the required survival skills" Tsuki was innocent, and so very delicate. He didn't think that having animal companions would be a good idea. Animals were so pure, and Tsuki already trusted him way too much. He didn't want to hurt her. Just because he denied the scary scientist's concerns, that didn't mean that he wouldn't be careful.

"Teach her the skills, then let her choose" Shinichi stated, scowling. Tsuki knowing how to survive wouldn't harm anyone, but he wouldn't let the magician get rid of his last dove. The bond was too special.

Me: Don't actually release domestic pets into the wild, that's basically a death sentence for them
