"I'll be back at about one, I expect you to be asleep by then per usual. Remember our rules." The vicar instructs, zipping up his coat whilst sternly looking towards his son.
Phil nods, bored of the same precautions his father takes. Its always the same rules repeated as if he's forgotten them.
It's impossible to forget them."Have fun." The vicars son mumbles, waving to his father and smiling in relief once he's out the door. "Finally." He sighs and sits on the sofa downstairs, turning on the TV which he doesn't have in his bedroom. His father says it's distracting for when he prays or does school work.
He puts on an episode of Friends and sinks into the cushions. Peace and quiet.
So this is what it's like to live alone? He could get used to this.
He decides that maybe he should change into his pyjamas, but then shakes his head and continues watching the show. Every moment he has alone is precious and wasting his time getting changed isn't worth it.
There's a sudden knock at the door, making Phil's eyes shift quickly to the front. A lump rises in his throat as he doesn't know who it is.
His father says never to answer the door if he's home alone, but what if it's someone important? What if it's Louise and she's hurt?He gets up and unlocks the door, but as soon as the locks click sounds the door is shoved open by the person on the other side, causing Phil to fly back against the stairs.
He looks up at the intruded and can't believe it when it's Dan.Dan looks around and spots Phil laying on the stairs, smiling. "Hello Philly,"
"Get out of my house, what are you doing here?" Phil commands, standing up and pushing Dan back a little.
Dan shuts the front door, taking out the key and placing it down his trousers, making Phil roll his eyes. "Real mature Dan.""You're coming to that party, I just came to pick you up." Dan informs, strolling around the house and inspecting the design.
"But I don't want to go especially if you're there. You can't make me." Phil snaps, crossing his arms.
How dare Dan thinks he can just parade into his house and demand Phil to come to a party. Who does this little punk think he is?
Phil has a mind to call his father right now, then Dan would be in trouble, than he might get kicked out the church service and Phil wouldn't have to see him again. But once again something's stopping him from doing that.
Dan just smirks at the pale lad, stepping forward and trapping Phil between the wall and himself.
Anger boils up inside Phil and he shoves Dan away from him so his back hits against the front door with a thump. "Get away from me, what do you want with me?! Why can't you just leave me alone?!" Phil exclaims, tears brimming in his eyes.
Dans eyes widen as he rubs his bruised shoulder, Phil sure has strength. He tilts his head and for once looks genuinely concerned with the lad.
Clearly he's confused and scared, he's never been to party before; that must be it.Phil flinches when Dan takes another step forward, but being more gently towards him. "This is your first party right?" He asks and Phil nods. "I'll lead you, I won't leave your side if you want. Louise is there and she'll help you fit in." He explains softly, his eyes warm and inviting.
This is weird. Why is he suddenly being all nice? Why does he want Phil to go to this party so badly.
"I can't fit in, I'll never fit in. I'm the vicars son don't you understand that? No one likes me." Phil mutters, looking at his feet and sucking in his lips.
