"SO, I HAVE BIG NEWS."

lennon grinned, looking around at her three band mates. they furrowed there brows, before she continued.

"i'm gonna make a solo album, but i'm not leaving the band. the music i'll make on this album will be completely different then our vibe, and i feel like it would ruin our look, that we've worked so hard to create-"

"christ, lennon, don't worry. i'm so proud of you." max said, blowing her a kiss.

"same. we get it lennon, we're all young here and we want to take risks, that doesn't mean we're not a band." zac nodded.

"and, to be honest, you deserve this lennon. you've always hidden behind us, and it's your time to shine now." vinnie smiled, giving her a side hug from where they were sitting on the couch.

"thanks lads. i've been stressing about this for days." she breathed out, standing up to hug them all.

the boys all knew she was too good of a singer to be hiding behind them, she had a stunning voice that deserved to be heard. they couldn't of been prouder of her.

she left max's house after a few hours and went home, thanking god that it went well. she already had two songs that she had been working on ready to record and couldn't wait to do so.

she slipped her ugg's off when she entered the house, walking straight over to the grand piano in her living room. her songs and notes were laying on top of it, so she grabbed the first one.

"vintage tee, brand new phone, high heels on, cobblestone, when you are young they assume you know nothing." she sang to herself softly, moving her fingers over the different keys.

"sequin smile, black lipstick, sensual politics, when you are young they assume you know nothing."

"but i knew you, dancing in your levi's, drunk under a streetlight, i, i knew you, hand under my sweatshirt, baby, kiss it better, i,"

that line was completely true, and was written one night in december, just after christmas when she was in ireland.

her and austin had walked back from the pub, even though it was a two hour walk and it was like twelve, but they didn't care. he was wearing his favourite levi's jeans, and they danced under the light of a streetlight. they kissed and he had slipped his hand under her sweatshirt to keep her warm.

"and when i felt like i was an old cardigan, under someone's bed, you put me on and said i was your favourite," referring to the many times he made her feel better about herself.

"a friend to all, is a friend to mine, chase two girls, lose the one, when you are young them assume you know nothing," clearly about kaia, and how they used to be friends. also, mentioning the fact he had them both, but lost one, lennon.

"but i knew, playing hide and seek and giving me your weekends i, i knew you, your heartbeat on the high line, one in twenty life times,"

"and when i felt like i was an old cardigan, under someone's bed, you put me on and said i was your favourite,"

"to kiss in cars, and down town bars, was all we needed, you drew stars around my scars, but now i'm bleedin',"

"cause i knew you, steppin on the last train, march me like a bloodstain, i, i knew you, try to change the ending, peter losing wendy, i, i knew you, leavin like a father, running like water, i, and when you are young, they assume you know nothing,"

"but i knew you'd linger like a tattoo kiss, i knew you'd haunt all of my what if's. the smell of smoke would hang around this long, cause i knew everything when i was young, i knew i'd curse you for the longest time,"

"chasin shadows in the grocery line, i knew you'd miss me one the thrill expired and you'd be standin in my front porch light and i knew you'd come back to me, you'd come back to me, and you'd come back to me, and you'd come back.."

"and when i felt like i was an old cardigan, under someone's bed, you put me on and said i was your favourite."

it was probably one of her best works, and she was proud of herself. she had sent a video of it to the band's producer the day prior and he had told her to come in whenever to record.

but she wasn't sure if she would. it could give austin a bad name, and that was genuinely the last thing she wanted, especially now that things were calm.

but then again, fuck him.

"so, we have a date." grace smirked at her sister as she swirled her spoon around in her mug.

"what?!" lennon gasped.

"yeah i know. it's august seventeenth." she nodded.

"that's amazing gracie." the younger girl smiled at her sister.

"isn't it? we're viewing the venue again next week if you'd like to come."

"i'd love to." she smiled.

"anyway.. who are ya gonna bring?" grace winked, making lennon groan. they shared a look before lennon spoke.

"probably calum, who else?" she laughed.

"i don't know. jacob wanted to invite austin, because their like best friends, but i said i'd have to ask you first."

"yeah, go ahead. i mean, we're friends i guess?" lennon nodded.

"alright, but he's probably gonna bring you know who, so just be aware." grace informed her seriously.

"yeah, yeah." lennon rolled her eyes.
